1983 Porsche 944 Base Coupe 2-Door Additional Info:
Offered for sale is an extremely low mileage, unmolested, great reliable driving rust free, 1983 Porsche 944. It has a 5 speed manual transmission. It runs incredibly well and starts right up every time you turn the key. In 2001 the odometer broke at 40838 miles and a new one with zero mileage was replaced on 3/13/01 (I have the receipt documenting this repair as well as sticker recording it in door jamb). I am the third owner. I purchased the car from a man in New York who bought it from an elderly couple in New York who had owned it since new. It was very well taken care of and is rust free, as you can see by the condition in the photos. It has the original window sticker (msrp $22538.00) as well as the original bill of sale from Dor Porsche Audi in Roslyn, NY. Included is also an enormous stack of maintenance records, showing the vehicle religiously having oil changes and preventive service since new.The extra options on window sticker totaling $2795 are:
Sapphire Metallic Paint $445Monterey Digital Cassette radio $795Limited Slip Differential $590Cassette and Coin Holder $35Rear Window Wiper $240Leather Covered Steering Wheel $70Stabiliers abd Sport Shocks $270Partial Leather Seats $350
This past spring the car received new front tires, new shocks front and back, new hood struts and rear hatch struts. Some of the maintenance done within the last 4-5k miles has been the following: tires, timing belt, battery, fuel filter, crank sensors, slave cylinder, new trunk and door weather-stripping, rear wiper rubber grommets inside and out, rear trunk lock rubber grommet, mass air flow sensor. There are some stone chips, scratches on bottom of front valance. There are also some chips on driver’s door edge. The dash is in great condition, carpet very good but slightly faded. Everything works in car except for the passenger control of the passenger window, which must be controlled by the driver’s side control. Otherwise, all electric controls work great. It has recently developed a very minor oil leak in the front right engine area. The original sunroof bag is attached in rear cargo area. It comes with two sets of original keys on vintage Porsche key fobs. The seats are original leather in very good shape with the exception of the driver’s side bolster section, which has a rip in it and has been taped to keep from tearing more. I noticed a few days before I took the pictures that the Porsche emblem on the front was missing and I have since replaced it with an excellent original one.Basically this is a strong running original unmolested Porsche. It runs excellent and is a blast to drive.Good luck and happy bidding! Please feel free to email me with questions and for more pictures.
