RARE INVESTMENT GRADE 1968 911 PORSCHE TARGAPRODUCTION DATE- June 12, 1968
This 1968 Targa was acquired from the Darwin James Collection. Mr. James was an avid collector, mainly of German vehicles, that enjoyed the Porsche and Mercedes Benz line of automobiles. At the time of restoration, since this Targa was built with the 911 S instruments, they felt it was only proper to add a period correct 911S engine and transmission, which they did. This move enhanced the power to a 2.4 engine with Weber carburetors and changed the short shift back to the standard. Car wasoriginally Irish Green with Black Leatherette but the new Porsche colorpalette selection makes this 911 Targa truly incredible.
The vehicle upon reciept was turned over to Rusnak Porsche for a complete inspection and then given to Anthony Stoessel of Coachcraft in Fillmore, California for a complete servicing ofthe 911 Targa.
The new owner of this spectacular 911 will find the performance to be of superior quality in both power as well as handling. When Anthony completed the necessary service, he conveyed the Porsche was truly superior in every way. Truly looks, runs and drives incredibly.
