Current owners in Laws bought car brand new in 1974' from a Pontiac dealership in Massillon, Ohio. Since then have passed, and his son and wife continuing to baby this beauty. In the years 1974'- 1979' this car was driven in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame Festival Parade carrying special guests! The car is believed to be all original, and has no replacements except new tires in 2004, and rear outside bumper fillers as well as possible exhaust and minor items. The car is a very striking convertible that offers lots of room, but in a sporty Pontiac type package. One of the coolest parts about the cars is that is has been in the family since it was new! We have documents, copy of original window sticker, copy of it originally being prepped for delivery, and warranty booklet from when they bought it new.

Buyer are required- To do their own research to verify the researched codes above are correct.

Paint-

* The paint is very shiny, and matches great all the way around.

* Considering 42 years later the paint really is in outstanding condition, and as far as the owners know it is all original except paint on fillers.

* We do not notice any (through the paint) scratches in the paint or the finish.

* Owner bought from his father, and they believe there has never been any paint work with the exception of installing replacement plastic fillers around the rear bumper.(Which had to be painted when installed)

* In the fluorescent light you can very lightly see on the hood, and deck some light faint checking, and or crazing that is typical of an older lacquer.

* We noticed a couple light nicks on the front nose of the car, and front edge of the hood. Also some pin head size nicks between the headlights, and grill on both sides. (see pics)

* There are a few light nicks in the paint where the fender hood and right front door meet, rear taillights, and on the mirrors. (see Pics)

* There are a couple small edges that appear to be bushed touched on the trunk.

Body-

* The hood, and trunk area are very straight and correct, much as you would have expected them to be new.

* The fits of the doors, hood, and the trunk seem to be fairly uniform all the way around, and seems to have no obvious alignment issues. (See Pics)

* The right side appears very straight, and correct with a light dimple between the door handle and the mirror, and one on the right front fender right about in the middle halfway up. (See Pics)

* The left side has maybe a half dozen light dimples on the quarter, and maybe a half dozen other dimple around the door handle, and edge of front fender. These could possibly be removed, or lessened in most causes with paint less dent removal. In interviewing the owners they indicated that the car at one time did experience light hail to the left side, and dimples could be a result of that. They can only be seen on close inspection at an angle, but it does exist.

Magnets-

* In doing several random readings of the paint depth on all metal panels, we found the paint to be in the approximate range of 6-10 mils of depth, which would be very similar to what you would expect to be on a factory original paint.

* We did not see any areas that fluctuated greatly, or indicated some major type of repair.

* There is a slight deviation below the right side door handle. There very well could have been a factory, or dealer repair prior to the car being delivered to the first owner.

Interior-

* It is the owners belief that the interior is either all, or is certainly mostly original, and felt they would have known of any changes made.

* The sun visors have good strong backing, stitching, and are not broken down.

* Looking at the underside of the convertible top, the steel frame has nice paint and condition, and looks as if it could have been refurbished when top was replaced.

* The inside cloth headliner all has good bright color.

* The dash and the gauges show minimal wear, and look like they have had minimal exposure.

* The carpeting all looks to have the seams, and vinyl inserts that appear to be factory. We have no knowledge of it being replaced, or not being replaced.

* The black coloring is dark and rich, and has not faded at all. Owners explained their parents always had it completely covered with material and mats.

* The carpet on the bottom of the door panel also has good coloring, but front and rear edges may need reapplied adhesive to bring them back down flush against the panel.

* The beading around the driver, and passenger bottom part of the cushion is a brighter white, and may have been improved or repaired at some point.

* The vinyl is nice and supple, and doesn’t appear to have excessive sun damage.

* The center of the dash, just to the right of the radio, there is some deterioration of the vinyl covering. (See Pic)

* The white seat material itself seems to be undamaged and not split, and has fairly nice coloring. However the arm rest area, and rear outside edges do show a small amount of yellowing.

* What is fairly typical is the top of both doors (that the wood was simulated and the vinyl has good color) The portion around the window controls, down to the carpet we see some deterioration of the plastic and some yellowing.

Trunk-

* When we remove the matting and the spare, the floor is very solid without a trace of rust or water, and is very original.

* Trunk does include the original felt matting, wheel and spare tire, jack and jack stand, and lug wrench that are all fastened in as they where meant to be.

* The factory provided felt padding is always poor quality, and wears quickly, and could easily be replaced if desired.

Bright Work-

* Chrome is all original as believed by family.

* All the bright work and chrome surrounding the windows, and windshield is secure. It appears to all be in place, and shows the very lightest of wear.

* Bright work is free of damage with the exception of a small dimple on the molding, directly above the rear view mirror on the outside. (See Pics)

* The body side moldings, door edge guards, lower rocker, all appears mounted correctly. It shows minimal wear, and no damage, with the exception of the rocker piece directly in front of right rear tire which has a small crease in it. The owner indicated that prior to installing the new tires they had a blow out on the right rear, and felt that probably caused the light damage you see.

* The body side molding appears to be a non metallic material and has a small amount of finish coming off on the right front fender. (See Pics)

* The grill and front and rear bumpers are very shiny, and show minimal age. They have just some light wear, scratching, and pitting that is barely noticeable.

* The gray filler surrounding the rear license plate appears to be an original piece, in which the color is showing some wear.

Glass-

* The windshield and all four side windows all have the same LOF Safety Flow Lite emblem.
* The rear window has the PPG Solex emblem, and it may have been replaced years ago when top was replaced.

* The glass all appears very clear, and we don’t see any signs of discoloring or
delamination

* The windshield has 3 or 4 pin head size nicks from normal driving, as well as a slightly deeper light partial bulls-eyes about one foot up from the side speaker on the dash. (Very minimal See Pics)

* All the windows are clear with the exception of the passenger window that has 2 light scratches about one inch long each that are barely noticeable.

* No signs of wipers marks, or other major scratches.

Top-

* The top is a replacement, and the owners husband indicated that the previous top was vandalized. (it was cut)

* Top is very clean, and the color is very nice and white, without fading or yellowing.

* The top has no cuts or tears.

* The material is very soft.

* The stitching around the rear window, and along the sides does not show any stitching that has come undone.

* The rear window is glass.

* It is a power top and does go up and down properly, as we have watched it in person.

* The top has some light creasing, and stretching on the left and right side that seems to be normal.

Tires and Wheels-

* The tires are Suntek Touring Pro steel belted Radial tires.

* We did not notice any cracking, curb damage, or deterioration.

* When you look closely, the wheels and trim rings are undamaged, and wheels have nice dark, and light gray coloring. The center caps may be slightly faded, but are in good condition.

* A couple of the wheel lugs had gone bad, and have been replaced with temporary nuts. The owner has purchased the correct ones but they have not been installed yet. (see extra parts in pictures)

* Left Front- 225-75-1510/32 Tread Remaining

* Left Rear- 225-75-1510/32 Tread Remaining

* Right Front- 225-75-1510/32 Tread Remaining

* Right Rear- 225-75-1510/32 Tread Remaining

Engine and Transmission-

* The engine compartment does not look altered from its original design in anyway.

* There have been a few minor changes, like the style of hose clamps used when new coolant lines where installed. Also the siren for the non factory burglar alarm system that was installed.

* The alternator pulley has been painted.

* The owner did not like the black on the bottom side of the hood, so he had it painted to match the car. (Including hinges, and new insulation fastened to the underside).

* Delco battery

Chassis-

* Underside has been undercoated and rust proofed when car had 1 mile.

* There are a few spots that show light surface rust, but for the most part all the areas are still covered, and coating is still doing its job.

* We did not see any rust perforation on the frame, or floors.

* The complete dual exhaust system runs all the way back, and they look as though they are more recent. It has shocks with springs built in as well.

* There was an in line electric fuel pump added at some point.

* You can see from the bottom that the plastic fillers have been replaced with the newer style.

* We did not see any seepage out of the rear end or the transmission, and just a slight partial drip, and moisture from rear main area.

* The steering box appears to be fairly dry, and looks like the car was greased not to long ago.

* We do not see any signs of obvious coolant leaks.

* The fuel hoses as well as the radiator, and heater hoses look like they were fairly recently replaced.

Mechanical-

* Alarm system works and will alarm when hood, door, trunk are opened. It also alarms if you use any electrical buttons or cause electrical draw. (example- foot on brake)

* All 4 power windows go up and down

* Left side remote mirror works

* Power door locks work on the left and right side

* Horn works on all 3 pads

* Hood release works

* Red and white indoor courtesy lights work on the driver and passenger door

* Interior courtesy lights in the rear work on the left side, but not the right.

* Blinkers work front and rear both left and right

* Headlights work

* Taillights work

* Trunk light works

* Left and right courtesy lights work

* Parking lights work

* Bright lights work

* Four way flashers work front and rear left and right

* Brake lights work

* Tilt wheel works in multiple positions

* Gas gauge works and is sitting at half full

* Oil pressure meter is working (Pressure is around 40 with engine hot and at idle, goes up between the 60 and 80 range when raising engine speed)

* Trip-odometer does reset as it was designed to

* Clock sets but appears to not be working

* Fan works on all four speeds, and blows hot and cold

* Defrost position works

* Air conditioning compressor does cycle and operate, it cools the air slightly and its our guess the refrigerant may be low

* Trunk release in glove box is operating

* AM/FM radio works

* 6 way seat is not operating

* Seat back locks work

* Cornering lights work left and right sides (right side bulb out of socket)

Test Drive-

Chad drove the car several miles with the owner and rode another of 10 to 15 miles. The steering of the car is very smooth, and seems to be operating as it was designed. The engine starts, and runs without any noises that seem to be incorrect. Car accelerates and drives properly. Car has a slight hesitation when taking off when its colder, but seems fine when warmed up. (typical carburetor operation). The engine appears to be running correctly, and the transmission seems to be up shifting and down shifting, and behaving and operating just as it was designed. Upon braking the car stops well, and is very smooth without any pulling to one side or the other, or pulsating. Title shows actual mileage.
