1985 Pontiac Trans Am LS1

1985 Pontiac Firebird Additional Info:

I am selling this car for my friends family as he unfortunately had to abandon this project for health reasons. It is a 1985 Trans Am with 65,000 original miles. The original engine was replaced with an upgraded LS1 engine. The engine is a 5.3L from a 2004 Escalade the was rear ended and totaled. The engine was torn apart and rebuilt with a Z06 camshaft, 799 high compression heads, and LS6 intake manifold. The engine is backed up by a computer controlled 4L60E transmission with a new balanced driveshaft. The car has positraction with 4 wheel disc brakes and a digital dashboard.
The interior is in good condition considering the car is 30 years old. It has a Vintage air conditioning system installed, it also has power windows and power drivers seat. The paint is mostly original, I think the front and rear plastic pieces have been repainted. The car looks good from 20 feet but as you get closer you can see the years of wear on the paint and the usual digs and scratches you would expect from a 30 year old car.
I have been driving the car around to get a feel for what it needs. It runs and drives well for its age and is pretty fast. (Fast being relative to a 68 year old). The tires are about at 30% and will near replacement soon. The wheels need refinished or polished up also. I remember my friend said he wanted to have the car tuned by professional as he said he had a "basic tune" in the computer and expected more horsepower with a pro tune up.
The reserve is set low, close to the price of the engine work alone.
