This is REALLY an amazing numbers matching 455 manual Trans Am. I DID verify the matching numbers by reading the numbers on the block, T IS MATCHING NUMBERS!!!! It is NOT a 50th Anniversary BUT decorated as one. Black with the 50th Anniversary graphics, rom the licensed Phoenix Graphix. The correct hood bird, alled the screaming chicken, ave the multiple gold variations, nd included the correct font for the graphics. Again NOT a 50th Anniversary but the 50th did not have any mechanical differences, NLY the graphics and gold interior steering wheel, ash, nd wheels which were secured from donor 50th Anniversary cars.
This is NOT a lame 200hp out of the box Trans Am. It has Ram Air III intake and exhaust, rane cam shaft I believe it is a 287 but could be wrong, rue dual exhaust, ichmond 5 speed tranny. I have not had it dyno’d but it’s got to be approaching 400hp, ut no guarantee on that. I don’t race it, ever have, o a dyno was not important to me. But I have driven other 76,77, nd 78’s and this one smokes them. As for the 80’s Trans Ams I have never had interest in getting in them.
The car has 76,000 miles on the vehicle and the engine work was done about 17,000 miles ago, peedo reset to 0 when done, ad 59,000 when work was done, itle has the miles as ACTUAL and 76,000 miles. NO dash cracks, eats were redone about 7 years ago and I only drive it to cars shows in Scottsdale, Z. No center console, took that out as I prefer the leg room. I no longer have it as I had no intention of selling the car and probably still won’t unless this auction produces a buyer. No sagging headliner and has the original spare and jack and wheels. No trim rings. To match the 50th Anniversary I did get the gold wheel, ot a repro an authentic, nd also an authentic dash, oth from donor 50th Anniversary cars. The hose has the correct 50th Anniversary emblem but that is a repro from Year One. The seats are also a repro kit from Year One.
I did NOT cut into the hood scoop, t is solid. I never liked the spoilers on the fenders but I do have them.I also have the original build sheet and books that came with the car.
Flaws, he back bumper, as some spidering. Carpet should be stretched, ould benefit with adding more modern brakes, specially rear disc would be a great additive, ut they do work fine. Radio is after market, ut a very cool radio from Sony. Installed correctly but I did not install it to know if any cutting was done but it is firmly in place. The glove box has a multi CD changer. Replacement globe boxes are easily available on eBay if you want to take it out and make use of the glove box. Tires, lthough plenty of tread left, f you are using this to drive on highways or daily tires that are 8 years old should be replaced. Like I said I drive it every 4-6 weeks to local car shows on surface streets 15 miles each way. I would change the wheels due to age if I were you. I will help with up to $800 in shipping if it sells with buy it now. I HIGHLY recommend that you use one of the services to have it test driven and inspection report sent before you buy it if you can't test drive it for yourself.
