This 1981 Pontiac Firebird Turbo Trans Am is one of 2,000 Daytona Pace Car Edition units produced for the model year, and this example spent time in Ohio prior to its 2020 acquisition by the selling dealer. Finished in white with Daytona 500 Pace Car graphics over red and black cloth upholstery, the car is powered by a turbocharged 4.9-liter V8 with a three-speed automatic transmission. It also has Firebird hood graphics, a rear spoiler, a blackout taillight panel, an external three-light boost indicator, T-top roof panels, white-finished 15″ cast aluminum wheels, cruise control, and Recaro front bucket seats. This Firebird Trans Am shows 41k miles and is offered with a clean Carfax report and a clean Ohio title.
All Daytona Pace Car Trans Am Turbos were finished in white (11) with Daytona 500 graphics. Exterior details include a rear spoiler, a blackout taillight panel, an external three-light boost indicator, T-top roof panels, and Firebird hood graphics. There are touched-up areas on various surfaces.

The five-digit odometer shows 41k miles. The fuel gauge does not read accurately. The turbocharged 4.9-liter V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 210 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque. The choke requires adjustment. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage from its initial entry in 2008 and shows the miles to be actual.
This is an actual, real Daytona, one of 2000 made. The VIN number and the firewall plate show a Y, which shows this is genuine.
