1981 Pontiac Trans Am – Big Block 454 • 4-Speed Manual • T-Tops • Complete Classic Project!Description:VIN#1G2AW87H7BL112748

Up for sale is my1981 Pontiac Trans Am, a complete and solid project car that’s begging to be brought back to life. This classic started life with a 305 V8 but now features aChevy 454 Big Blockand a4-speed manual transmission, giving it the heart of a real muscle car.

This Trans Am has beenoff the road for years, but it’s all here — a complete car withT-tops in good condition, solid body structure, and the kind of potential you rarely find anymore. It’s the perfect foundation for a restoration, restomod, or hot rod build.

I haven’t tried to start it. The engine appears complete and turns by hand, but expect it to need the usual work to get running again (fuel, ignition, fluids, etc.). The car hasa few rust spots, but overall it’s astraight, solid California-built (Van Nuys)Firebird that’s been sitting and deserves a second life.

Highlights:
  • 1981 Pontiac Trans Am

  • Chevy 454 Big Block V8(non-original engine swap)

  • 4-Speed Manual Transmission

  • Factory T-Tops in good condition— open-air classic style

  • Complete car— interior, glass, trim, all present

  • Solid frame and structure(California-built car)

  • A few minor rust spots, mainly cosmetic

  • Perfect restomod, project, or flip candidate

  • Bill of Sale only(no title – easy bonded title process in Texas)

Why This Car Is Worth Building:

This 1981 Trans Am represents the final year of the legendary second-generation Firebird — the same iconic body style made famous bySmokey and the Bandit. Combine that with abig block 454and4-speed manual, and you’ve got a car that turns heads everywhere.

TheT-topsmake it even more desirable, especially since they’re ingood shape— no cracks or warping, ready to clean up and reinstall. This is exactly the kind of find that collectors, hot rodders, and classic Pontiac fans are searching for.

Condition Notes:
  • Non-running project– been sitting for years

  • Turns over manually

  • Needs full mechanical refresh(fuel, brakes, electrical, etc.)

  • Interior complete, will need cleaning/restoration

  • T-tops and body panels intact

  • Sold as-is, bring a trailer

Paperwork:
  • Bill of Sale only

  • No title(bonded title process available in most states, including Texas)

Final Thoughts:

If you’re looking for a complete, hard-to-find Trans Am with abig block engine, manual trans, and T-tops, this is your chance. These cars are climbing in value every year — and with a little work, this one could be worth serious money as a finished resto-mod or muscle car build.
