I am the 2nd owner. It has 41,735 original actual miles. The car is in original condition. Only 133 Pontiac Tojans were made. Out of the 133 only 13 were convertible and only 3 were Knightmares. They were made between 1984 to 1991. Only certain Pontiac dealerships in California, Texas, New Jersey, Florida, and a few other states sold them. All of them were special order vehicles.. They ranged from $36,000 - $62,000 depending on the options chosen. The Pontiac Tojan made appearances on TV in Miami Vice, Alien Nation, and the movie Collision Course.
These cars were commissioned by GM to be built by Knudsen Automotive based out of Omaha, NE. Pontiac wanted a car that was capable of competing with the Ferrari. They wanted a car that could go toe to toe with the Ferrari on a road course yet still be affordable to the average American.
GM provided Knudsen with GTA frames, Tuned Port Injection 305 and 350 engines, with a 700R4 transmissions. Knudsen beefed up the stock suspension so the Tojan could corner like it was on rails. It was equipped with power disc brakes on all four wheels and power steering.
The cosmetics are 100% original, they were designed by Knudsen. The Tojan's styling was actually heavily influenced by the Ferrari 305.It's influence can be seen on its rear trunk lid and the rear tail lights. Further adding to the Italian super car influence, a Lamborghini style wing was available as an option. This car has the dished Gotti 3 piece wheels, Recaro leather seats, and a wooden dash fascia. The logo of the Tojan, appears to be a demonic horse.
It has the original radio and cassette player. This car has a 5.7 liter 350 Tuned Port engine. This car runs and drives great. This car has won several trophies and awards at car shows.
This car is #131 of 133. This was the 3rd and final Knightmare produced.
