What we have here for sale is a 3 owner 1972 Pontiac GTOwith 79,000 0riginal. Miles. This car was ordered with all the goodies. To include:A/C, tinted glass, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, Formulasteering wheel, AM-FM Stereo 8 track tape player, deluxe bucket seats, shoulderseat belts, pedal trim, wheel open moldings, Rally II wheels, light group andthe list goes on.
The car is powered by its original numbers matchingdriveline to include a 400 cubic inch V 8 engine, a Turbo 400 3 speed automatictransmission and a 3.23 gear ratio Safe-T–Track (posi-traction) reardifferential and stops with power front disc brakes. This car is so original itstill has its Quadra-jet 4 barrel carburetor along with points and condenserignition.
Back in 2000 the car was purchased by the second owner and wasimmediately sent to his body shop for a complete repaint in Pontiac’s CardinalRed. It was originally a Wilderness Green car with a white vinyl top and fullbody side molding. I personally think the second owner made a wiser choice topaint it red. It looks super. At that time he also elected to freshen up theengine with a new timing chain and gears along with a rear main oil seal andpan gasket as well as valve cover gaskets and oil pressure sending unit. Alsodone was the complete front and rear suspension components and an $2,000 exhaustsystem from Gardner Exhaust including the chrome splitter tail pipes. Sincethen the car remained in a climate controlled man cave garage and was onlydriven 1411 miles in 23 years until I purchased last September ’23. Since thenI’ve replaced all of the braking system including all hydraulics and booster, allshock absorbers, all fluids, timing case cover, water pump and fuel pump and acomplete ignition system and tune up. Along with a number of other items tomake it once again a road worthy beauty. All system are in working orderincluding the air conditioning ready for the ’24 car cruise season.
The condition of the body and underside are spectacular. This is an all original steel panel and framework vehicle. No panels have beenreplaced with only a small patch at the R/S rear quarter drop down. The bodygaps are phenomenal throughout the vehicle…they were never as nice from thefactory. The shop that prepped this car and painted it did an excellent job. Alot of time was spent to get it perfect…which it is. The body has no dings, chips or scratches to speak of. That includes the famous front Endura bumper andsurroundings. It’s laser straight with a perfect flat wet look shine. As can bewitnessed in the photos and videos. All glass is good except for 2 smallimperfections in the passenger door glass. Trunk floor and inner wheel wellsare perfect and it still retains all its bumper jack components and bias ply sparetire.

The interior is again, spectacular for 52 years old. Greatheadliner, no cracking of the dash, clear instrument cluster and again alloperational except for the clock which works intermittently. Even the 8 tracktape player works and sounds great!! Which if you purchase includes 15 or so 8track tapes. Even one from John Travolta. J
The car runs smooth and quiet and shifts the same with nodriveline noises or whining. And it’s not a noisy car both from the inside andfrom the outside. The exhaust has a stock sound like back in the day without anydroning.
This is a very nice looking and driving GTO. It’s also aspecial GTO. Because it was on display at this year’s International Auto Showheld at the Javitiz Center, New York City. In celebration on 60 years of theGTO 1964-2024.
Car comes with most all original paperwork and PHSdocuments. Things like the Protect o Plate, build sheet, original bill of sale, repro window sticker, glove box owner’s manual and a binder of receipts fromoriginal owner. Also various service manuals and GTO books and restorationguides.
I tried to be as open as I can with my description of the vehicle. But I’m sure I’ve left out a few things. So with that, here’s my cell number and name for you to call if you want to discuss anything I might have missed. Feel free to call me.
