It is time to let go of my 1983 Pontiac Trans Am Daytona Pace Car LG4 Hard Top 5 speed. Originally a Maryland car that I believe to have purchased off the original family. I have (parts) of the Build Sheet recovered and framed showing its original dealer in North East Maryland. I have owned the car for approximately 13 years. In 2011 I pulled the engine and transmission to clean up the engine & bay, it got all new rebuilt brakes, tubular control arms and Eibach springs at that time.A new clutch was put in.In 2018 I had the car restored (paint, body work, weatherstripping, graphics, tires, windshield) here in Florida. The leather bolsters were reupholstered but the suede is original. Recently the radiator was replaced with an Aluminum 3 core and installed a 3 piece lower air dam. I have the original bowling ball hub caps, original front floor mats. The quadrajet was rebuilt shortly after the restoration as it got gummed up while in the shop.
The carpet (front and rear) was replaced with carpet from ACC. The rear trunk latch could use an adjustment but functions fine. Car runs strong, the oil and filter was just changed. Back in 2013 I drove the car from Maryland to St. Louis in one day. Since then it has mostly done local car shows and always garaged. Caught in a drizzle maybe once or twice. Car has ceramic coated Hooker shorty headers with full exhaust into a Flow master, sounds great.
The car body never had any rot, just some surface rust from where the paint was faded before the restoration. This was all addressed during the restoration. I believe the car was originally undercoated in Maryland (maybe when it was new). The one exception is the battery tray was cut out and replaced with sheet metal. Headlights function great the motors were rebuilt in 2011. Original Engine & Transmission. AC is installed but not functioning, blower works and heater works. Power windows work, Passenger side is slow. The power side mirrors worked prior to the restoration but not after. Power Antenna works.
Car runs strong, Please ask questions. Paper Florida title in hand. Thanks for Looking!
