1947 PONTIAC TORPEDO COUPE

This is a cool old pontiac fastback coupe. This was a one-owner car until I purchased it. These cars look great restored to original, kustomized, or done as lowriders. I've also seem many of them that have been ratted or hotrodded and they all look cool. All the details are below.Feel free to ask questions. Please read payment requirements. I accept wire transfer only. Your bank can help you with that if you need and it's pretty easy. I can help arrange shipping if needed. Thank you.

MECHANICAL

This pontiac has the straight flathead six cylinder, and three speed manual on the column. I have not tried to turn the motor over. The hood hinges are sticky and I didn't want to bend the hinges or hood trying to open it all the way. I could see the engine and it looks all original. I don't know if it turns over or not. The clutch and transmission seem to function as they should, as far as I can tell with it not running. All gears engage. The clutch works and it will hold it on a hill so you can used the clutch for loading purposes. I was told the car ran when parked, but that has been many years. The old six volt battery is still in it, so I'm guessing it did run when parked. If the engine runs, I'm sure it will still need full tuneup stuff, fluid, exhaust, brakes, and tires.A couple of the original 16" wheels are included. It has 3 of the original hubcaps.

BODY

The exterior body is nearly rust free and very straight. It has a couple easy to fix dings. The roof is super straight. The only exterior rust-through is part of the rocker beneath the doors. The floorpan and trunkpan is very rusty and will need replaced. All the replacement panels are readily available and inexpensive. The frame is fine. The floor supports are fine except for one but they are easy to replace. The doors and trunk open/shut properly. As I mentioned before, the hood does not open all the way. I didn't want to force it and hurt the hood, so I'll leave that to you. I'll have to check but I believe some of the glass is usable. Full glass kits are sold and are inexpensive. They have different tints to choose from also. There are some interior trim pieces included as well as one of the rocker pieces. The spotlight is the GM brand. It may have been dealer added. It moves and twists like it should and most likely works.

INTERIOR

The interior needs complete restoration. I believe everything is there, including the headliner bows. I think the gauges and other dash pieces will clean up. Steering wheel needs repaired or replaced. The car rolls and steers and shifter works as it should. I believe interior kits are available, but any upholsterer can do it also, or rat it or whatever turns your crank.

This old classic is sold as-is. Thanks for looking. I accept wire transfer only for payment. It is very safe and fast. Your bank can call my bank if needed if they'd like to confirm everything is legitimate. I need to have full payment received within three business days.
