This is a factory 326 HO manual transmission car with dual traction bars. The body is extremely clean and the patina on OE red was decent. The body was stripped of parts and high pressure washed. The inside floor was sprayed with Raptor Bedliner, and the firewall and floor were covered with sound deadening mat. The body was rubbed out with ceramic coating to keep some shine and protect the patina. A new gas tank and sending unit with new straps was installed. The rear end was disassembled and checked with new axle bearings and new Eaton posi installed with original 3.23 gears and CPP TransAm rear disc brake kit with functioning park brake. New leaf springs and bushing were installed at same time. The heater was removed and a DSE block off plate installed. It is ready for a Vintage Air kit if you wish. The center stack was replaced with a factory delete plate. Gauges were cleaned and installed with OE wiring harness and fuse block. New tilt steering column installed with Stewart Warner gauges under dash. New headliner, new package tray, new carpet, new dash, new seat covers, new foam, drivers seat 2" set back plates. cleaned and restored deluxe molded door panels. The front end of this firebird started with a brand-new AMD subframe, new rust no dents no dirt. Assembled with an OE power steering box and new lines, new CPP control arms, spindles, steering arms and front disc brakes and a Wilwood master cylinder. A QA1 front coil over kit was used when assembling. All the steering linkage is new from Moog, also installed a 1.25 sway bar. The complete front subframe with engine and trans was mated to body with new body mounts and sub frame connectors, new AMD inner fenders were installed, and the front fenders are NOS GM/Pontiac original fenders NOT REPRODUCTIONS, new bolts and hardware for everything, A 1969 trans am repo hood (and matching rear wing) along with a Parts Place Ram Air IV hood tach, a Camaro front chin spoiler and HOLLEY yellow inner halogen headlights. The aluminum radiator and shroud, hoses, belts, fluids, lines are all new. The engine is a 1967 block, crank and heads. The short block is built with the stock crank that has cut, polished and balanced, SCAT 4340 H-beam forged connecting rods, LW ICON forged flat top pistons with 1/16 rings, Crower cam saver hydraulic lifters, Pontiac Ram Air IV camshaft, comp cams roller tip rockers, guide plates and .080 pushrods, RA IV size stainless undercut valves, Comp Cams valve spring, retainer, keeper, PC seals, ARP bolts, Cometic head gaskets, a ported OE intake that is milled for a 4150 carb, a 850 Holley carb, MSD pro billet distributor, MSD coil, MSD wires, MSD 6AL box, Milodon oil pan and a Carter mechanical fuel pump. The engine was assembled and broke in on dyno, then dyno tuned. you will get the dyno sheets with it. 408HP on pump gas. very stout and easy to drive. The transmission is a brand new "crate" Auto Gear M23 "rock crusher", with the wide ratio gear set; 2.52 low. The clutch is an 11" HD single disc with diaphragm mcleod set up. The Mini starter, cables and battery are new. Along with the Hurst comp plus shifter for stock location. Wheels are from YearOne and are 17" Pontiac aluminum Rallye wheels and BF Goodrich tires. The exhaust is really something special, the headers are new reproduction 1960's Mickey Thompson SUPER SCAVENGERS with the equal length tubes ending in different spots in the "square" collectors. Then they were sent off and orange ceramic coated. The headers alone were $2500. The exhaust system is a Walker rear muffler complete kit. The sound with the exhaust, Super Scavengers and RA IV cam is very unique. This car is very fun and easy to drive. It is as fast as you want it to be and handles very well. No clutch chatter and the brakes are quiet and powerful. Nothing hangs down excessively and it runs perfect on pump gas. Does not overheat with the correct shroud and HD clutch fan.
