Vehicle Details

3 owner original born with drivetrain iconic 1965 GTO. This car is 58 years old and still going strong. Real deal Gto (no clone here) have phs paper work. Car was built 4/1/6, had its original YS code 389 four barrel engine(Was rebuilt in 1991) Date on block is 3/30/65, intake 3/31/65 and still retains the 3895s Carter carburetor. This is a rare low optioned Gto con, no power steering, no power brakes, column shift. Options were only automatic, deluxe hubcaps, backup lights, am radio, and two speed wipers with washer. Standard gears for automatic car 3.23 non safe T track. I got car in 2020 from broker who purchased from 2nd owner’s estate. Car was in Ohio and had been parked in garage for the last 20 odd years. So these are the things that are new or rebuilt since I have owned the car. Complete tuneup, rebuilt original carb(choke works as it is suppose too, went thru brake system, new gas tank, fuel pump(ended up installing Carter electric pump) all 4 shocks, rear springs, complete frontend components replaced and front end alignment, new aluminum Cold Case radiator made especially for 65 Gto. Car was taken apart around 1999 and rust issues worked and painted by owner who did the best he could but is definitely an amateur job. You can see in pics were truck, floors, quarters were worked on. Fit and finish are not professional to say the least and body and paint as well. On that note this car drives and run so good. I’ve driven it about 4000 miles since I have owned it and have had no issues. I have driven it over 500 miles in one day going down the interstate 70-80 mph with no issues. Convertible top is in good shape, I have original boot cover but have never used it. Top goes down but needs assistance going back up. Not sure if low on fluid or something else. Good exhaust system. Weather stripping is old. Interior is nice just a couple seems coming lose on drivers seat. Mileage is 98545, appears to be original but no way to prove that it is. Coker redline tires, one wore wrong before front end alignment and has just been replaced with brand new non redline as the replacement redline is not available until September or October. I did find a desent set of 65 Gto spinner hubcaps to put on car (original hubcaps included also). All in all very hard to find unmolested drivetrain Gto of this age.
