Up for sale is my 1962 Pontiac Bonneville Limousine, Superior Coach conversion when new (6-23-62), 389 cu. in. engine, automatic transmission, 50,948 original miles, black exterior color w/matching black/gray cloth and vinyl interior, power steering, power brakes, A/C, remote driver’s side fender mounted outside mirror, manual passenger side fender mounted outside mirror, AM radio with front fender mounted antenna. This is a hard to find, low mile Bonneville limo that has remnants of what it once was with a nice interior and solid structural integrity. Unfortunately, the car was left to the elements at some point and now could use reconditioning, if so desired, to restore to its original condition when new (see pictures). The last 2 owners have kept this car indoors for many years in its present condition and it was driven into storage 18 years ago. Currently the car runs and drives since it was brought out of storage earlier this year, but it has not been driven far.
The interior shows well - seats, carpets, dash, door panels and headliner appear to be original and look nice. The steering wheel and dash pad are beautiful with no apparent cracks and in a condition that you would expect to see from a low mile car. Radio powers up but sounds of static, heat and a/c have not been tested because blower motor doesn’t power up, but all heating and cooling components appear to be intact, windows are functional, headlights and brake lights are functional, some other electrical items like wipers and horn need attention. Under the hood is original and untouched. Trunk area is super solid and in nice shape with surface rust (see pictures). Trunk lock is missing as is the spare tire and jack.
Engine starts up with quiet internals, shifts well, drives and stops. The exhaust leaks up front but the exhaust itself is in good condition (see pictures),oil leak/wetness around oil pan. The underside of the car is very clean and solid with nice floors and frame bearing original undercoating, some rot in rear body mounts but still solid nonetheless. Chrome bumpers and other chrome trim pieces are pitted and / or peeling, stainless around front, rear and side windows as well as other places is super nice.
The body has surface rust and paint cracking all over, rot apparent where expected but not limited to the following areas: lower fender heels, rear lower quarter panels in front of and behind rear wheel openings, old bodywork bubbling up and rusting where work was completed for the limousine conversion in the rear quarters (see pictures). Wheel well lips and the inner fender wells as well as the doors are for the most part in good shape. Brakes and exhaust are in good condition as well as the tires but are older bias ply.
