1974 Pontiac Trans Am Additional Info:

Up for sale is an original Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty! The engine is original to the car, as the vin # stamped on the block shows. The car also has the original intake, carburetor, and exhaust manifolds as well. The body on the car is incredible! All of the panels are original. The car has been repainted in its original color, admiralty blue. The only changes to the car have been in the transmission and rear brakes. The car was originally an automatic, but has been converted to a Tremec 5 speed, which makes the drivability of this car way better than new. It will cruise at 75mph at less than 2K rpm - very drivable car. The rear brakes were originally drum, but have been converted to rear disc from a 79 TA WS6 suspension. The rear axle is a 3.42 posi. Also an air/fuel gauge was added to allow accurate air/fuel adjustments to get optimal performance from the carburetor. Just a few changes have been made to make this car better than new.
I have driven this car quite a bit and it has performed flawlessly. The only reason I am selling it is because I had the chance to get a new D170, so I could not pass that up. This car has won multiple awards, is on the Super Duty registry, and has always been well cared for. I have a book of receipts and documents from the previous owner on its history for almost the past 30 years.
The AC works great as does the power windows and door locks. All the dash lights, map lights, etc. work as they should as well. There is nothing to do with this car except drive and enjoy it as I have! The only issues with the car is a slight rear main seal leak, as is the case with most 455's - but not bad at all. Also the headliner on the passenger side is just beginning to sag, but just barely. It is the original headliner in great shape with no tears at all.
Only 943 Super Duties were made in 1974, and this is one of the remaining ones. There are some automatics for sale now, and occasionally you may see an original 4 speed, but this one is the best of both worlds. You get the AC that came with the automatics, but an upgraded 5 speed manual so it is very easy to cruise in. I have much documentation on this car, so feel free to ask questions or request additional information.
Very few of these cars come up for sale, so here is a great chance to get an awesome car that I would not be selling otherwise. Thanks for looking!
