We see so many vehicles that are survivors, or have been restored to factory specs. Sometimes it's nice to see what kind of spin people put on cars when they are rebuilding them, but not in the factory specifications. This Firebird convertible is a car that has a list of custom and aftermarket touches that have been added during the restoration to change the look and feel of this GM classic.
The most noticeable custom touch added to the car is the paint job. Obviously hours and hours of work have been put into the House of Kolors multiple color paint. To be specific, a two tone Black with 'Red Ice' flake hood and trunk area, color shifting red/gold separated by 'Prowler Purple' 3" wide stripe are what make up the amazing paint job. Other exterior details include aluminum grill trim, hood tach, custom mirrors, rear spoiler, and custom 18" wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires.
Inside the car the custom touches continue with late model Pontiac GTO seats being fitted and finished in purple. The dashboard, door panels and center console are finished in black. Other interior highlights are a Grant 3 spoke steering wheel, custom gauge pod that houses 3 auxiliary gauges, Mr.Gasket shifter, and aftermarket stereo components.
Under the hood is a 455ci that has been rebuilt and the car has a number of upgrades to the engine and suspension. Engine upgrades include a Holley 3310 dual feed carburetor, accel ignition coil and distributor, mad dog stainless headers, 3" stainless exhaust, aluminum radiator, and dual electric fans. The suspension consists of QA1 coilover which include 3 way adjustable rate shocks, upgraded sway bars, Hotchkiss adjustable tie rod ends, CPP series 500 14:1 steering box, and tubular upper and lower A-arms. SSBC 13" & 14" cross drilled ZR-1 rotors with powdercoated 4 piston calipers front, and 3 piston calipers rear help bring this car to a stop.
This is a special car with a number of custom touches making it unique enough that you won't see any other cars like it. It's sure to catch attention and the V8 under the hood is sure to put a grin on your face. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
