We're happy to offer this vintage GM coupe for your consideration. These early 70's sport coupes featured coke-bottle styling which is very similar to the popular Malibu/Chevelle, with a little edgier styling in the area of the fenders. A close look at a 70 Chevelle and this Tempest makes it very obvious that they were from the same family. This Tempest is most definitely the brother of the GOAT, but a close cousin of the Chevelle. Chrome bumpers front and rear, round headlights, rectangular tail lights mounted in the bumper, and a postless side profile gave both the Malibu/Chevelle and the Tempest sporty looks. This is a handsome car whose exterior has been repainted, and the interior retrimmed for an awesome final package.
This Tempest left the Pontiac Michigan factory painted Granada Gold (code 58), which seems like a bit of a subdued color for a sport coupe to us. We think the fire engine red suits the car a little better. GM Rallye II wheels have been replaced by the ever popular, and good looking Cragar 5 spoke chrome wheels which seem to be more of a focal point on the car thanks to contrasting bright red paint, and chrome bumpers capping either end of the car. All trim and lights/lenses show very well all around the car.
Speaking of contrast, a tan vinyl interior looks great paired with the red exterior. The interior features a bench seat, three spoke steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, and a Sun tachometer. A Pioneer CD/XM stereo has been added to the interior although the original AM radio is still found in the dashboard. Under the hood is a 350ci V8 mated to a TH350 transmission. The engine bay is tidy and includes the 350ci chrome air cleaner, Pontiac blue painted valve covers and engine block.
This handsome GM coupe is a car to consider for someone who wants a muscle car that is a little more unique than what you may usually see at a car show or cars and coffee. This car has a presence wherever it goes! Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
