1970 Pontiac Le Mans Sport Additional Info:
This 1970 Pontiac Le Mans Sport is well-preserved kind of classic that has a ton of vintage style and a few of the right upgrades to be a true V8 hardtop of distinction.
Pontiacs of this era have something special about them. The GTOs that were based off this design are cars of legend today. And while we cherished the Endura front end of those back in the day, the chrome of the Le Mans seems to make a bolder statement today. It's like a shiny beak of a bird that's ready to take flight. It matches nicely with the other bright elements like the form-fitting rear bumper, complete window trim, rocker panels, and the iconic Rally II wheels. You even have some sporty upgrades like the full-width rear spoiler and redline tires. But the real desire on this car is inspired by its sunny appearance. The factory-correct Palomino Copper has a nice luster in the sunlight, and the white vinyl roof coordinates nicely while delivering a premium look.
The Sandalwood interior continues with this coupe's bright theme. It's not only the factory-correct color, but also this is believed to be highly original. That's always desirable to see something looking this good when crossing the half-century mark. And it seems to directly reflect the low odometer (averaging less than 1,300 miles annually.) Not only does the well-preserved light color give this the feeling of a premium machine, but also so does the wood paneling on the center console and dash. Plus, this Le Mans Sport has some nice sporty details, like the high-back bucket seats and Pontiac's hallmark hood-mounted tach. The tan three-spoke steering wheel has the unmistakable soft center that GM enthusiasts will instantly remember the moment you take control. You gaze over an amazing dash that has all the right factory pieces, such as the round gauges and heat/defrost controls with provisions for factory air conditioning. But even with this exceptionally well-presented interior, there is room for a modern upgrade. So while the AM radio looks great in its correct position, the real tunes come from a more modern AM/FM/CD unit in the glovebox.
Under the hood is the unmistakable proper Pontiac turquoise. And this very honest engine bay also continues the numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8. Once again, this one loves to live up to the Sport part of its name with some nice performance additions, like the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. There is a nice hint of rumble from the updated dual exhaust, but this Le Mans never betrays its comfortable cruiser heart. The three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front all make for a very pleasing anytime classic.
