1970 Pontiac GTO Convertible Additional Info:
1970 GTO convertible. Unrestored survivor, I call it that because it has lasted almost fifty years without being completely blown apart and cut up, but maintained to a high standard. It has a lot of originality and is in amazing condition. Top is new and works perfectly, interior is in very nicecondition. Carpet has been replaced and seats recovered. Dash and door panels are original. Body has had a repaint at some point in enamel that I cut and buffed and looks great and is as smooth as glass. I stripped, repaired cracks and repainted therubber nose. Thefront bumper didn't look or fit this good from the factory. There is a few blemishes here and there thathave been touched up, clear coated and buffed. It looks great at any distance. All original body panels, car has spent most of it's existence in California. You can see by the pictures of the floor that the R rear floor pan has been replaced with good workmanship and has fresher black paint on it. Original quarter panels and trunk are in fantastic condition. All body bushings look really good!
The engine has beenrebuilt. It has a nice cam lope and the new factory style dual exhaust sounds tough.I cannot make out the serial number on the engine (it is very faint). It is a YS block, and the block has the casting year 70 next to the distributor. To to be safe consider that it is not a number's matching engine. The transmission is number's matching and there is a picture of the serial number on it.The GTO also has its original 14" Rally II wheels.
There is new tires, ball joints, A arm bushings, upper and lower control arm bushings. The car runs and drives down the road like it did in 1970. Power top, E brake, interior lights, horn, wipers, turn signals, brake lights, running lights, headlights (high and low beam), license plate light, fuel gauge, Tach, speedometer/odometer, aftermarket gauges, AM radio and even the door buzzer all work as they should. A/C is all there and has a new belt, but needs to be charged. I don't have any R12 or know if you can even buy it anymore. Good time to convert it to 134A. Blower switch keeps blowing the fuse, so I bought a new one that comes with the car. Cig. lighter and factory clock are not working.
This GTO has all the standard JUDGE options along with some available added options that didn't come standard. The Judge option in 1970 would cost you less than $250. Today it costs a hell of a lot more! Standard are: Rear deck air foil, Front air dam, Striping, special mag-type wheels, Blacked out grille, Special "The Judge" emblems, Front stabilizer bar-1 1/8", Rear stabilizer bar -7/8" and Firm ride and handling package. This car also has available options like Variable-ratio power steering, Hood-mounted tachometer, Power front disc brakes, and 7-blade thermostatic fan.
If for some reason you don't like the "Judge" look, I will include three new red GTO decals and the beauty rings for the wheels.
Please call with any questions you may have. Thanks, Mike 479-228-4304. I will not accept any offer unless I talk to you first, I need to know you're serious and NOT playing around.
