Rare, Numbers matching, 1970 GTO 455CID, 4-Speed, Convertible
One-of-one hundred fifty-eight (1:158): 1970 Pontiac GTO, 455CID, 4Speed, Convertible, assembled in Pontiac, Michigan. Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation. Cardinal Red, Red interior, white convertible top (but black now). Red Interior components including original correct red GM seat belts (see COWL TAG, Trim #254), driver side power seat, driver side remote mirror, Custom Wood Steering Wheel, Rally Gauge Cluster, AM/FM Stereo radio, factory trunk deck lid release button in glove box, console and console lid. Only One-Hundred Fifty-Eight (158) GTOs were produced in this drive train and body style combination (455 Cubic Inch Displacement, Muncie M21 4-Speed manual transmission, and convertible top). Total 1970 GTO production (All GTOs): 49,149 units. Engine firewall /GM COWL TAG/Body tag/Data plate and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) along with numbers matching engine and transmission to VIN Sequential Unit Number confirm authenticity and are available when personally inspecting vehicle (or photos if offer is made and accepted).

Condition: repainted with acrylic enamel (estimated in early 1980s). Paint shows signs of use including paint chips, minor scratches in a couple of places. Interior, original comfort weave design, This is a great "driver" car.

History: Vehicle originally delivered to car dealership in Owen, Wisconsin, the fourth week of September (September 30, 1969) and delivered to the first owner in Ludlin, WI. Vehicle then purchased by a collector in Minnesota. Later sold to another Minnesota car enthusiast. Then sold to me nineteen (19) years ago. Starting mileage on car when I purchased: 81,500. Engine overhauled at 78,071 miles...cylinders honed. These details were documented in hand written notes and additional details of items replaced are mentioned... Approximately 300 miles driven per year over a 19 year period. Always stored in winter. Original Harrison Radiator and upper and lower hoses with Harrison tanks reinstalled with new radiator core (2016). New BF Goodrich Radial T/A (includes spare tire) purchased fall, 2017 (tire purchase documentation and warranty available). 2019 (June) Tune up (ignition: points, plugs, condenser) oil change, PVC valve, rubber gas lines replaced at gas tank (with alcohol rated new rubber fuel hoses) and fuel pump, anti freeze replacement, new rear brake lines and master cylinder installed, chassis grease points serviced, compression check: Good. Restoration shop evaluation: solid floors and frame, "Cool" car. Runs good and stops good!
