We sell all cars as-is, which means the buyer isresponsible for any and all repairs, according to the Ohio Buyer’s Guide (includes body, mechanical, frame and interior). We do our best to describe all vehicles as accurately as possible, but keep in mind that opinions may differ and that it’sthe buyer’s responsibility to inspect the car before bidding. We advise all bidders to get a third party to check out the vehicle if they can’t make it out themselves to ensure their complete satisfaction. This must be done before bidding. When you view the pictures of the vehicle, make sure you look at them on a large screen to ensure that you can see all attributes of the car.
If the car starts and runs onto the truck, but it does not start at arrival, that is the buyer’s responsibility (cars may be damaged on a long, bouncy trip). Once the car is paid for, all buyers should put insurance on the vehicle because they now own it. We will work with your shipper or you can call Mike, our shipper, for a rate at 781-763-7447 Ext. 208. We leave all buyers positive feedback. All sales are final. All deposits are non-refundable, so please make sure you know exactly what you're buying before you bid. Our shipper will get the car to you within 4 days to 2 weeks at a fair price. If you'd like to call him for a price, that would be fine.
All cars left on our lot after 30 days will be charged $18 a day and we hope we never have to collect a dime. But we don't have enough space to store everyone's car after they're paid for. It's the buyer's responsibility to pick up their car that they just purchased. Please remember we are on the buyer's side. Please only bid if you are a real bidder who wants to purchase the vehicle, and again, if you haven't purchased 3 items over the last 3 months we will remove your bid. If you're a zero bidder and you bid at the last second just before the auction ends, the vehicle will be offered to the bidder before you and you will not end up with the vehicle, so you need to call us.
Thank you for looking at our 1979 Pontiac Trans Am (Smokey & the Bandit Edition). It's all black with gold trim. This car features a 6.6L V8 engine, which is the large engine, automatic, power steering and brakes, factory T-Tops, the correct wheels and it also has tilt steering wheel. It has an updated AM/FM CD radio and much more. The car was equipped new with air conditioning, so if you look inside the car you can see the button for it. However, one of the owners over the years decided they didn't want air conditioning and took it out. Thatdoesn't mean you can't put it back in if it's something you feel you may like. This is the Trans Am that most enthusiasts are looking for, and today we think we're offering a really nice one. This is a car that we feel is a great driver and has the potential to be a show car if somebody wanted to bring it up to the next level. It's very easy to get in and out, and it drives nicely and shifts correct.
The engine sounds good and there's no noise coming from the rear end. The mechanical issues with this car that we believe need attention are:
- The exhaust, which sounds great and is dual exhaust but it does not have the side pipes coming out the right and left under the rear quarters.
- The hood, which opens up easily but needs a new hood cord, which is probably about $20
- The hood scoop on the car that goes outside through the hood needs a ring put on that we purchased that comes with the car to make it stabilize in place.
- It does not have a spare or a jack, and the turn signal knob which also is part of the cruise control, is broken.
The car runs great, and in the future it could probably use a tuneup, or maybe not.Since the new owner will probably be a Trans Am fan, they should have no problem fixing these things themselves and actually making the car even nicer than it is today. To get all these parts for the car we think shouldn't be more than $500, and they're all available online. One of the best parts about this car is that it's very solid. Please check the trunk compartment, engine compartment, underneath of the vehicle, etc. It's amazing how solid this car is for being 40 years old.
I personally think one of the best parts of buying an old car is being able to buy something you can just get in and drive that you don't have to bring to the body shop and spend a bunch of money on dents or rust. This one here is ready to cruise and ready to have a lot of fun with. There's no doubt that when you're driving this car, everyone looks at you going down the street. The only thing that'll be missing is Burt Reynolds himself!
