1977 Pontiac Firebird TransAm SE Additional Info:

This 1977 Trans Am (Smokey and the Bandit) is UNRESTORED...This is a true y82 w72 T-Top 4spd as shown in the PHS docs that come with the car. This car runs and drives great, it is not cleaned up in the pics., I backed it out and took pics. without washing it. The original W72 400 motor was rebuilt about 14 years ago back to factory specs (less than 500 mi on it) and I bought the car 13 yrs ago. The original 4 spd trans was replaced at that time with a period corresct/exact match Borg Warner Super T10 and the car runs and shifts great, the clutch is tight and the car drives good. The A/C compressor was left off when the motor was rebuilt but it is a factory A/C car. This car has not been on a long trip in many years, I drive it around the neighborhood periodically just to keep it functional but I strongly advise transporting by truck or trailer as it is a 42 yr old unrestored car. I always run Non Ethanol with Seafoam and the car always starts easily and runs great but this is not a warranty, this car is being sold as is with NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED !! What you see is what you get, this is a mostly RUST FREE SOUTHERN CAR having resided in Ar most of its life and Tn (bought new in Ripley TN according to phs) and never been North of here. The head liner is long gone, it does have a weak rear floor pan on the passenger side (T-Tops all leaked in the 70's) but the rest of the pans including trunk are solid and very nice. I believe the car has had only one repaint many moons ago and as the pics show, it "shows well" on the street but it is in need of a total restoration due to the age of the car.,The paint was slicker than GM could produce back then (I think it's enamel) but it is older now and showing wear. It gets plenty of attention and smiles any time it leaves the garage as it still shines and cleans up well, I CAN SEND A PHOTO OF ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SEE IF YOU'RE BIDDING,, JUST ASK...Every gauge on the car works (except clock) including speedo and tach...All lights, horn and wipers work and the old Craig cassette stereo even still plays and sounds good (dash isn't cut)...I don't have to sell the car, I may not sell the car, I like it a lot but if it meets reserve It will sell as I am retiring and downsizing my home and storage will become tight soon. These T/A's are quickly becoming one of the fastest appreciating cars on the collector circuit and the car can only make money in time. I'll keep it another 10 years if I have to... I have described this 42 year old car to the best of My ability, I'll be happy to show it to anybody that wishes to see it prior to bidding but if You pass on that opportunity, please be a big boy and follow through with your commitment to buy...I reserve the right to end auction early and I can assist in shipping but the cost is on the buyer...Bid to win, last chance... Thanks.
