If you have been searching for the ultimate ’64 GTO, the original muscle car, you have found it here today. This car is beautifully presented and no detail was left untouched. It was frame off restored approximately 5 years ago and the restoration was complete and extensive. It takes a tremendous amount of effort to do a car to this extent, especially in black, which we all know is the most difficult to color to perfect. There are plenty of cars that should not be painted black, this one most definitely should have and was. You will not be ashamed to bring this car to any venue you bring it to. This car is for the most discerning Pontiac collector. It has been treated to a more modern, powerful drivetrain and is ready to eat up the road in style. I affectionately call this car “The Gentleman’s Muscle Car.”

This car is a true GTO, identified by the trim tag, it was born a 389, 4-speed car. Sparcely optioned and ready to tackle any opponent it met at the stoplight. It has been given a FULL AND COMPLETE restoration. The underside of the car is as slick and shiny as the top side. It has been rebuilt from one end to the other with no step skipped. So if you ask yourself, “has this been done or rebuilt?” I am here to assure you it has been.

Some changes were made along the way, to make it a more drivable, more powerful and better looking. It has been given the heart of a true Tiger, a roaring 461 cubic inch, stroker engine, a Tremec TKO 600

5-speed overdrive transmission, power steering, disc brakes on the front and VINTAGE AIR CONDITIONING. The color combination has been changed from Skyline Blue, Blue top with Parchment interior to a much more desirable TRIPLE BLACK. This car will definitely stop you in your tracks, when you see it and when you hear it.

So if you are looking for the ultimate in Americana, this is it. Please call me with any questions, my number is listed at the end of the ad. Now onto the details.

Body and Paint

This car is stunning, that word really does sum it up. It has been frame off restored, the body panels are straight, and the gaps are tight. The paint is extremely slick, glossy and deep. It has been painted glossy on the underside and in the trunk. The floor boards are flawless, I am not going to guarantee they have never been replaced but I have been over this car with a fine tooth comb and I cannot tell, so if they have the workmanship is outstanding. The factory pinchwelds are present. It is painted Starlight Black.

The trim tag decodes as such:

Build date 05B 5th month, 4th week

Body PO Pontiac Michigan

Trim 219 Parchment

Paint H-4 Skyline Blue –Blue Top

ACC 1W, 2P, 5N, 5Z Tinted glass, Radio, GTO option, Seat belt delete

Engine and Drivetrain

The engine is a very powerful 461 cubic inch stroker Pontiac motor. The engine block is a 1969 400, 350HP block bored .040 over. The rotating assembly was ordered fully balanced from Kauffman Racing. It has an Eagle 4.250 stroker crankshaft, Eagle 6.800 rods, and Keith Black forged ICON pistons. It has a Comp Cams complete hydraulic roller cam set up, to include cam, retrofit roller lifters, matched pushrods, springs and retainers topped off with Crane roller rocker arms. It has Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, Edelbrock performer RPM intake and a Holley 850HP carberator. The ignition is fired by an MSD distributor, MSD 6AL digital box and Taylor wires. It has Dougs ceramic coated headers, a Billet Specialties TruTrack serpinetine belt system with billet alternator and billet P/S reservoir. It is cooled by a Ron Davis radiator and the fans are controlled by a Dakota Digital Pac2750 fan controller. It has a VINTAGE AIR, surefit A/C system installed.

The transmission is a TKO 600 Tremec 5-speed with a “White Lightning” shifter from American Powertrain hooked to a 3.90 geared positraction rear axle. The frame has been blasted, painted and fitted with all new bushings, springs, shocks, lines, disc brakes, balanced driveshaft and flowmaster exhaust with rear splitters.

Interior

The interior is all brand new of course. Black bucket seats, console and factory tachometer. All the potmetal trim has been replated, all the emblems are new, all the seat trim is new, everything is new or redone. It has VINTAGE A/C to keep the warms days a little cooler and heat to keep the cool days a little warmer.
