1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Restomod Additional Info:
Now is your chance to be the baddest Bandit on the road. This 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am might look like a nicely restored Special Edition car, but underneath the surface is a restomod with an upgraded A/C interior and modern fuel-injected LS V8 power. The truth is these cars never look better than when they're dressed in formal black with a tribute to Special Edition trim like this coupe. The black seems to highlight the aggressive shape, as well as all the sporty details like the fender vents, integrated spoiler, and shaker-style hood. Plus, the black is the perfect backdrop for the many gold-colored details that feel like they leap off the glossy bodywork. The Trans Am markings on the fenders and rear looks terrific, and that iconic hood bird makes the whole car worth its weight in gold. And if you look closely, you'll notice the deeply tinted windows and that the iconic snowflake-style wheels are larger than stock - offering little hints at the higher performance within. Open the door to an interior upgraded for comfort and performance. It starts with bucket seats that are custom-covered in a comfy cloth with the T/A logo bird stitched into the headrests. And we love how the custom door panels have a machine aluminum insert to match the dash. This is quite a comfortable coupe with an AM/FM/CD stereo, modern Pioneer speakers, center console, and ice-cold R134a air conditioning. And while the T/A's classic three-spoke steering wheel gives you a cool vintage feeling, the B&M shifter is another reminder that this is an upgraded machine. You might see the 4.9 callout on this T/A's shaker hood, but that's just to keep the classic/sleeper vibe of this coupe. Once you look under the hood, you see a modern 5.3-liter fuel-injected V8. This was installed in 2010, and we have the $8,000 receipt to document the quality upgrade. It all looks great packed into an engine bay that still had enough room left over for some interesting touches, such as the mean cold air intake air tube. But this Trans Am is more than just about a high-performance bite. For example, the 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission is not only stout enough for performance driving, but also it's an overdrive unit that is good for highway cruising. The same can be said for the front disc brakes and power steering. Plus, with sway bars front & rear and the grip of Nitto Extreme Performance tires, this is a restomod that truly handles. We have enough receipts from the last eight years to document that they invested nearly as much as the asking price in this coupe. That's why you know this cool and complete T/A is one heck of a deal. Don't miss out, call today!
