Independently appraised by MotorTech, Classic Motor Vehicle Appraiser’s on 27 July 2018 for $82,000.00. Selling $12K less for immediate sale. Check out this impressive description of this gorgeous GTO. Purchase and own your dream!
General: The first time my GTO has been put up for sale in 32 years. Never raced - just TLC. Full-Frame on restoration just completed. Built in Freemont CA and purchased with 106K miles. Documented by Pontiac Historical Society, VIN 242379Z120811 (2=Pontiac Division, 42=GTO, 37=2 Door Hardtop, 9=Model Year, Z=Plant Location: Fremont CA, 120811=Sequence Number). This GTO was maintained/restored for long-term dependability and after three decades of ownership this classic is DIALED-IN. Runs strong and drives exceedingly well. All modifications, especially aftermarket items installed, were researched to ensure they exceeded factory specifications and added to the driving experience. Even though a sizeable investment was dedicated towards the appearance inside and out, it was not the top priority. A lot was invested to improve the mechanical strength, dependability and quality, as opposed tomany muscle car owners that focus on appearance, For example, instead of slapping on the functional hood hinges with some new paint, I opted to have them reconditioned by YearOne were larger pins were installed for smooth operation, springs were tested and sandblasted for around $350. This is one of hundreds of details that make this Goat stand out from the rest of the herd.
Body: The sheet metal is solid and 100% rust free with being kept in SOCAL. Freshly painted the original color of Liberty Blue with PPG base/clear coat during February 2018. The Judge style stripes and GTO emblems are painted - not vinyl stickers. Stripes added to match the graphite and aluminum colors in the wheels. Restoration included: Stripping to bare metal; Removing/reconditioning/painting the insides of the front fenders; Doors were removed and jams cleaned and painted; New Year One Endura rubber front bumper installed; Rockers were coated with a rubber guard to protect against chipping; New grills and moldings; New windshield and rear window glass; All glass (less windshield with a clear ceramic coat) tinted 35% ceramic coat that protects and keeps the interior cool. Gaps and fit are excellent, finish is impeccable. Undercarriage is very impressive and rust free, but could use a light cleaning.
Engine: Built by Butler Performance and includes: The strongest aftermarket Pontiac cast block IAII 505 c.i./8.2 liter (Must readhttp://www.allpontiac.com/standard.html);steel forged crank and rods; Kaufmann Racing Engineering D-port aluminum heads ported/polished; CompCams roller cam, push rods, lifters, rockers; Edelbrock Performer RPM intake; Holley 870 Street Avenger with vacuum secondaries; K&N air filter; Meziere HD electric water pump; ARP bolts. There are roughly 1K miles on engine since installed. Runs very clean - no hesitation - no fuel odor coming from exhaust. Has a minor oil drip from rear main like most Pontiacs.
Note: Dyno was documented and filmed at Butler Performance resulting in a conservative 492 h.p. and 603 ft. lbs. torque at flywheel. Engine built to deliver power throughout the entire RPM range, so low end torque and top end are excellent.
Exhaust: Doug's ceramic coated headers with titanium exhaust wrap; 3" aluminum coated exhaust pipes; Flowmaster mufflers. Very quiet freeway/cruising, but releases impressive performance and sound with acceleration.
Drive Train: 4 speed automatic 700R4 overdrive transmission and torque converter built by Oceanside Transmission; Shiftworks neutral safety switch/detent/indicator to maintain the stock appearance in the console; Chevrolet 12 bolt limited slip with new3:55Richmond gears.
Interior: Solid floor boards were prepared with RustOleum paint; Dynomat sound-deadening underlayment; New carpeting; New front/rear door panels; New kick panels; Graphite steering wheel; Factory seats; Custom console incorporates Stewart Warner water temperature, oil pressure and voltage gauges; Dashboard reconditioned by JustDashes; Classic Auto Air conditioning system. The air conditioning system, coupled with the wrapped headers, underlayment and tinted windows make for a very comfortable driving experience.
Electrical: M&H Engine and headlight electrical harnesses; Professionally installed BeCool dual radiator fans; Air conditioning; Dashboard electrical, Ignition lock-out security system; Remote battery disconnect switch; MSD billet drop-in distributor and ignition system; Nology Spark Plug HotWires. Also, under the dash is very clean with most harnesses neatly labeled. All major and minor electrical items, to include the glovebox light, work perfectly.
Suspension/Brakes: All wheel Master Power Brakes disc brake system; Hotchkis Sport tubular front and rear suspension/anti-sway/control arms/with 1" lowering springs provide a soft ride with firm performance.
Wheels/Tires: Wheels Year One 17X9" billet aluminum Rally II's are paired with Bridgestone Potenza Ultra High Performance 255/40R/R17 tires. Trunk spare includes the same wheel/tire with a bottle jack and lug wrench. The 17” wheels are perfect match for the suspension and deliver excellent performance combination.
Miscellaneous: Rick's stainless steel 16 gallon gas tank; Large 4-core aluminum radiator; Electric vacuum pump; Electric in tank fuel pump.
Customization: Multi-security systems-one with hidden 6-digit keypad ignition lock-out and an electronic battery disconnect switch, original hide-away headlights removed/reconfigured with regular headlights, wipers motor removed, custom 13" carbon fiber and aluminum steering wheel, custom aluminum dash inserts with carbon fiber inlay delete radio, wiper switch and cigarette lighter, custom carbon fiber inlay console contains oil pressure, water temperature and voltmeter, side view mirror replaced with dual 1970 Sport mirrors, rocker & wheel well moldings and rear quarter moldings removed for cleaner look, fender and trunk GTO logos are painted with 14 separate colors to match the clean restomod look.
Documentation: An extensive amount of documentation has been captured in a beautiful leather binder that contains the detailed appraisal, articles, reference information, receipts, photos and the original owners manual. The 13 page appraisal, receipts, etc. are already scanned and available upon request.
