‘70 Pontiac LeMans
Thank you for looking at my frame on restored ‘70 LeMans. This Florida car was stripped to bare metal before painting and the only metal work done was a right full quarter panel. This wasn’t done because of rust or rot, it was because of a dent in the body line that requires too much filler. The paint is Pontiac code 67 Castilian Bronze. The car was painted prior to my ownership but looks really nice with only a few chips from being a driven car. The front bumper was re-chromed and the rear was purchased new through a restoration source. Both add the pop this car has especially in the sun.
The interior is black buckets with Column shift automatic. The dash was restored and factory gauges and tach were added at that time. Front buckets were recovered at time of restoration as well as new carpet, headliner, and windshield. The interior is very presentable but could benefit from finishing the refresh.
The drivetrain is all rebuilt starting with the ‘70 YH code 455 and street ported 71 GTO casting #96 heads to get the compression to 9.5:1. The 455 was bored .030 and forged pistons were used with stock rods and new bolts. The cam is the Lunati Voodoo 10704 which is a great cam in a 455 with a very aggressive idle. The stock appearing engine is topped with factory intake and Q-jet carb. The exhaust is Ram Air Restoration’s oversized HO manifolds, Pypes 2.5 x-pipe to Race Pro mufflers and GTO splitters at the rear.
The transmission is a rebuilt TH400 with a firm shift kit and Hughes GM25 stall to a new Auburn Limited slip with 3.73 gears.
I tried to emulate the ‘70.5 Pontiac GT-37 (splitters, D98 stripe, and hood pins) with period correct touches like the brand Ansen Sprint wheels and new 245/60/15 front and 275/60/15 MasterCraft Avenger white letters.
This car is very nice and shows well at local and national shows. I just came back from the Pontiac Tri-Power Nationals (Aug 3-5) where I had it on the show field for the weekend taking 2nd place in Street2b. This car shows, and drives well and turns heads wherever it goes. In a sea of common colors like red, black and blue, this car stands out even without the stripe. The Judge stripe really adds a look to this car.
More pics available upon request. Also message me for a link to a walk around if truly interested. May consider trades but must within driving distance to central Indiana. Would consider 64-67 GTO, LeMans, Tempest or ‘47-66 GMC Trucks.
No warranty expressed or implied, shipping is the responsibility of buyer. Will help load.
Note, out of town the week of 13-Aug but will be checking mail.
