1992 Pontiac Firebird Formula Additional Info:
I am the second owner of this car I purchased from the original owner (a doctor that lives in Southern California). She purchased it new from Hood Pontiac in Riverside. This car has never been smoked in. The car fax I have shows the when and where for the title transfer. The majority of maintenance is listed on the Carfax as well. There is no damage or accidents reported.
Four years ago and about 5 thousand miles this car was completely redone and updated the way most Pontiac and car guys would do it.
The completely rust free body was sanded down all nicks and dings blocked out and a deep black two stage paint was applied. All the original decals were re-installed as stock except I had a 25% increase in size for the nose bird. Looks better don't you think? The interior has the original seats, carpet and cargo screen. The dash has a cap on it. The original T-top restraint is in good working order.
Every part of the drivetrain has been gone through.
New ZZ4 engine installed, With a CARB (California Air Resource Board) correct camshaft and the factory TPI and all emmision legal equipment installed. The exhaust was redone with new cats and high flow exhaust and muffler. This car can and does pass California SMOG Test legally. If you are a California buyer I will smog it before you come to get the car.
The 700R4 transmission was completely gone through and a Hughes Converters (still has full lockup) installed,
The driveshaft has new u joints and was ballanced. The rear end got new posi clutches and bearings. The gears looked like new and were retained.
The chassis was gone through with new bushings, shocks and performance alignment and four new BFG Gforce Z rated tires put on the original blasted and powder coated 16 inch WS-6 wheels. The brakes are high performance 4 wheel disc.
The cooling system was redone with a new radiator and heater core. The Meziere high flow water pump keeps this car cool on the hottest days.
The electronics in the car have been updated to modern standards. The touch screen has Navigation, Bluetooth and hands free calling. It slips back into a single din mount to keep would be thieves from thinking it is anything special. This car also has a high power AMP and subwoofer neatly tucked away. In case the thieves are smarter then that, there is a hidden GPS tracking system that tells your location speed and other information like doors open or closed battery hooked up and the option to hit the kill switch and keep them from driving any farther. The tracking system works through a seperate phone line in the car and has a 30 day battery backup. This car does still have the working PASSKEY II system and remote keyless entry.
The main features include:
WS6 High Performance Suspention
Air Conditioning updated to R134
T-Top roof panels. (this car has mirrored glass panels not the squeeky plastic ones)
Power windows (both regulator motors have been recently replaced)
Power locks with remote keyless entry including the power rear hatch soft release
Power brakes 4 wheel disc,
Power Steering WS6 quick ratio steering box.
Manual articulating driver's seat.
If you want a head turning daily driver that has never been beaten up this is your car. If you want a car that runs and has all the creature comforts of a modern car this is your car. I have put about 5,000 miles on the engine and driveline since I went through it. I have all the reciepts for the GM engine and most of the other parts. It would cost you over 18,000 grand to copy this car and that is if you could even find a one of less than 300 made 5.7 ltr. WS6 T-Top Formulas. This car new was over $25,000 when new and frankly most of the car is better than new.
I need to get $14,000 for this car or a very close offer. Before you say crazy think about this:
If you already had a very rare 1992 Original 5.7 WS6 T Top Formula. Price out a $5000 paint job $4000 engine $1000 in transmission work $1000 in Chassis work, $1000 in tires $500 on the wheels and $1000 on the sterio, nav and tracking system. $1000 in exhaust work. I have lots of photos and can send you more
I can arrange to have the car inspected, SMOG (if needed) and shipped or I can get it delivered (your dime) or you can come out here to check it out yourself and while you are at it go to Disneyland, Seaworld and Universal Studios and then drive it home.
