1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 6.6 403 Olds
I'm the third owner of this 1979 Trans Am with an original 104k miles. Always being a solid car I've mainly concerned myself with keeping it safe and road worthy. Another goal I had but never got around to - installing number 5 heads to increase the compression ratio, heads are included with the buy it now price. An interesting thing I did get done was a Bluetooth receiver installed into an original tape deck. New e-brake cable has been installed and it also has working cruise control! AC has been removed partially.
Timing chain and gear have been replaced with much more durable aftermarket parts, along with a new water pump. The 403 usually runs very smooth although has some nozzle drip in the Quadra-jet which you all know can get cranky if all is not perfect. There is a little road noise due to front end needing alignment and possible inner axle bearings to replace in the future. Also a slow crank over at first when hot.
Very nice 15x8 snowflakes with very low mileage bf radials.
Drivers floor pan has been replaced and floor has been sealed. Polyurethane body mounts all around. Along with painted core support and a re-cored original 4 core radiator. New weather stripping has been installed all around. Interior also has a new carpet. Dash has a crack in the middle.
There is some body work that needs to be done, such as lower fender sections, passenger rocker panel holes and small holes in the trunk. Along with an obvious paint job. Under heavy rain there are a couple drips and the windshields will need silicone or reset.
Has original gmac lien with release.
