1968 Pontiac Le Mans Additional Info:
Up for Sale is my 1968 Pontiac LeMans Convertible.400 V8 with a Turbo350 transmission. Bucket seats, center counsel shift, factory power windows, came with factory air conditioning, have all parts in a box, including compressor etc, that have been "handed down" thru the owners over the years, so if someone was interested in reinstalling A/C on this car you could! Car shows 43K on the odometer, I'm assuming thats been rolled over already, giving the total mileage on the car 143K, but speedometer / odometer work perfectly.
I also have the original 2-speed powerglide transmission that will go with the car.Brand new American Racing Torque Thrust "D" rims and brand new B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A tires, literally less than 50 miles on them!
Engine has an Edelbrock intake with an Edelbrock 600 CFM electric choke carb, starts great every time and idles smooth. Edelbrock valve cover and air cleaner, with K&N breather and air filter, both brand new.Removed original distributor and installed a Pertronix 50,000 volt HEI unit with 8 MM plug wires.Has 4-core radiator with Flex-Fan, Aluminum high-flow water pump, temps always run cool!Custom bent/welded 2 1/2" exhaust system with Walker Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, the sound is amazing, engine has a mild cam and the exhaust sounds absolutely awesome!
The fronst suspension was lowered about 2" to give the car a better rake to the front. It runs down the road straight and steers easily with the power steering, brakes very well, overall car handles very well on any road trips. The convertible top will need some work, the top could use a restretching, and the hydraulic lines in the back are bad, the top can be manually put up or down, seals down tight to the windows and does not leak. The power windows all work, the interior is very clean, all of the seats are intact and have no rips or tears, all the seats have the factory seatbelts.I have owned this car since 2002, it sits in a heated shop year round and has been adult driven, Amsoil 100% synthetic motor oil and premium gasoline always.I have been told that with some GTO emblems and a GTO hood, this could make a sweet GTO clone project, something to consider.I do have the car listed locally for sale, and will end this auction early if it sells from a local buyer.Car is located in Central Wisconsin.
