VEHICLE DISCRIPTION:

I am assisting a personal friend in selling his ORIGINAL OWNER, BARN FIND - TRANS AM. We have been friends since school days and I have also known this beautiful Trans Am since he purchased it new April 6th 1979. It now has only 2014 Miles.

It is completely original, un-molested, un-restored and un-touched. This car is so factory original that it still has the original (from the factory), Uniroyal raised letter tires with absolutely no cracks or dry rot. This car has been covered and stored in a heated garage since new. It was last driven in 1985, however the engine has been started periodically and the engine oil replaced periodically.

After initial photos were taken inside the garage, we uncovered the car and pulled it outside for additional photos. The exterior, interior, engine compartment and undercarriage have for the most part been left untouched. Consequently you will see over 30 years of dust and cobwebs in some areas like engine compartment and undercarriage. LEATHER INTERIOR STILL LOOKS, SMELLS AND FEELS FACTORY NEW. Considering the originality of this car, we have decided it was best to leave the decision and level of detailing to the new owner. We have many additional photos of this car, however ebay allows 24 pictures using their photo posting system. The owner has the original PA title issued in his name from 1979 and in hand.

MECHANICAL NOTES:

This beautiful Tran Am starts as it should at the turn of the key. The engine runs smooth and quiet and sounds as nice as the day it left the factory, with absolutely no abnormal noises or fluid leaks. A new original equipment Delco (side terminal) battery purchased through General Motors was recently installed to insure proper starting. The original catalytic converter was removed in 1979 and a test pipe installed in its place. The original catalytic converter is not on the car; however it is still in factory new condition and included with the car.

The original R-12 Air Conditioning system has never been touched however the compressor does engage when switch is turned to AC. We have not run the car long enough to adequately test the AC system for cooling.

EXTERIOR NOTES:

This Trans Am has 100% factory original paint. It has a few minor original factory imperfections and no attempt has ever been made to touch up anything. These cars were not absolutely perfect when they left the factory, so this car is as it was delivered by the dealer. Because the car has been covered and stored in a heated garage its entire life, the original factory paint and decals are still as nice as original factory production standards with absolutely no cracking or crazing. All rubber seals including doors, trunk, T-tops, windows etc. are also in factory new condition.

INTERIOR NOTES:

The LEATHER interior on this Trans Am is completely ORIGINAL, un-touched and as nice as the day it left the factory. When you get inside this Trans Am, the interior still SMELLS NEW. The carpets have been covered since new, until photos were taken. The shag carpet has also never been touched, cleaned or even vacuumed before photos were taken. There may be some shadowing in the photos, but we assure you the interior including shag carpet is as factory new.
