Up for a no reserve auction is a rare 1953 Pontiac Chieftain convertible. Please read the entire description before bidding or asking questions.
As far as I can tell this car was equipped with every single option available, including the autronic eye, underseat heat, lighted hood ornament, automatic transmission, rear speaker and more. It is an 8 cylinder power steering car.
The Pontiac has been sitting for many years and is in poor shape. As you can tell from the pictures the body lines are all messed up. From what I can tell, someone in the past attempted to replace the floors and frame. It would appear they tried to use a 1954 Star Chief frame and floor, as both are too long for the vehicle, however the frame is in good shape. The wheelbase is correct, and the only difference is the frame extensions on the rear. If you cut the extra 11 inches out of rear frame horns it would be the same dimensions as original. The complete floor pan from a similar year Chevy is available new and can be made to work, as can rockers and lower quarters. The car is very rusty.
The car could be restored, rodded, or used as parts to make another convertible out of another Pontiac or a Chevy. It is mostly complete, it does not run and I have not attempted to turn over the motor. The only items I know that are missing for sure are the Indian on the hood, the rear bumper, and the top half of the back seat. There is lots of trim and extra pieces in the truck.
I will not sell parts off the car.
The car rolls and steers. If you need me to source a rolling spare to replace the one front that is off the rim I can do so.

Full payment will be due within 72 hours of the auction close, no exceptions. Car is sold as is, where is, in Marine City, Michigan, with a clear title and it must be picked up within 30 days. After 30 days I reserve the right to relist the car with no refunds being made.
