1966 Pontiac Other Additional Info:
Great 66 Pontiac Executive 4 door hardtop. Rebuilt original 389 2 bbl. Runs very well. Rebuilt to stock specs. Hardened exhaust valves installed for unleaded fuel. Bored .030. Also, new springs and front shocks, lower ball joints, front wheel cylinders and brake shoes.
This car drives very well. Four new tires have just 500 miles on them. Brakes work very well too. Stops straight and no pulsation. This car is a pleasure to drive and manuvers easily in parking lots. It's big but not a tank. Much easier to park than my extended cab Chevy truck!
I bought this car locally from the son of the second owner who purchased it in 1968! They mostly only drove it on their vacations each year to South Dakota. It's been in Western Washington its entire life and the son claims his mother babied the car and always kept it in the garage. The car has virtually no rust. There are 3 spots when rust has broken through the metal: The base of both front fenders. (the drivers side is worse. The passenger side is very minimal) And in the trunk just below the trunk latch. The left tail light seal leaks and the water runs to the latch area then down. There are no visible holes, just rust bubbling. The rest of the trunk and the car are super solid!
The paint is still the original Mission Beige except for one area around the trunk lock and an area on the trunk lid have been touched up for some unknown reason.
The interior is all original and in decent, presentable condition but the front seat is a bit worn on the drivers area and the carpet is worn. But, the headliner is very nice, the dash pad has no cracks and is still soft and the steering wheel only has hairline fractures in the plastic, no cracks.
The car has quite a few factory options:
power steering(works good no leaks), power brakes,(working well) Underhood reel out light (works but missing wire to switch) Door edge guards (all there) Tilt steering (works) Clocks( sometimes works. once it worked for 3 days) AM/FM radio (works perfectly, but speaker is bad) Rear seat speaker(needs recone but in good condition) Rear defroster (works great) Power Antenna(works good)Remote mirror(works good and it's in good condition) Roof rail lights with map lights (all work well and in good shape).Deluxe seat belts (all work and look good)
Also, speedo, fuel gauge, battery gauge, horn, lights, wipers and in perfectly working order. The windshield washers do not work. The ignition key, door locks and trunk lock all work well but the glove box lock doesnt work.
Known issues are. Mainly the big dent in the drivers quarter panel and and dent in the right rear door. The car has minor dents all over. There is a very small transmission fluid leak. About 2 drops a day. The glasss is excellent but the windsheild has 2 or 3 small rock chips.
Overall, this is a great car to either drive as is or restore to perfection. Its NOT just a Sunday cruiser, car is very usable and safe.
Any questions? PLEASE ask. More pics? Just let me know what you want to see and I'll snap more pics. Car has clear title in my name. Shes ready to go!
