A full black T/A that was born this was is always desirable, but you can instantly tell this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 has something more going for it, too. With its unique exterior package, comfy A/C interior, the original 400ci V8, the control of a four-on-the-floor, and the sought-after WS6 package, this one puts your muscle car fantasies into overdrive. The second-generation Trans Am was a seriously intimidating package. The wide ground effects in front of the wheel... wells, integrated rear spoiler, and shaker hood all gives this a real presence on the streets. When the dent-resistant Endura front end is as complete as this one, it's not only a dead giveaway to some serious care, but also it gives the Firebird Trans Am an aggressive beak that perfectly complements the famous hood bird. In fact, this graphic truly looks like it's breathing fire with its distinctive red appearance, which is also repeated on the fenders and rear. So while we love the gold accent T/As out there, this offers a different level of distinction. Plus, it also helps that the canvas for all this red is the glossy factory-correct Starlight Black. And like any good American classic there's room for brightwork. It's a terrific standout on places like the quad exhaust tips and iconic 15-inch "snowflake" alloy wheels. Inside is more of the right kind of distinction. For example, this is a desirable factory-correct black, which makes it a full midnight package car from day one. But while most of these came with vinyl bucket seats, you'll notice this one is finished in a comfortable cloth. And that will make all the difference on a hot day. And speaking of staying cool, this T/A also has been upgraded with a new R134a air conditioning system. Other great comfort features include power windows, power locks, power steering, an armrest center console, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. But more than just a coddler, this is a true driver's machine. You know that the moment your right hand rests on the stick shift, and your left one feels the grippy factory steering wheel. Beyond that is the iconic machined aluminum inlay that covers the whole dash panel. Inside there is a full gauge package, including Pontiac's cool tach/clock combo. Within the clean ending bay lives the original numbers-matching 400 cubic-inch V8. It has an exceptional honest presentation, right down to the light blue block color you can see below the correct snorkel intake. These cars were known for being ferocious. This power inhales through four-barrel carburetor living under that hood scoop, and it exhales with authority as an upgraded header package adds power while contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. And you have full control over the V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. But what really makes this T/A special is the WS6 handling package. It includes front & rear sway bars, a tighter steering box ratio, and four-wheel disc brakes. This option made the Trans Am the favorite of most automotive magazines back in the day, and it will still impress on the blacktop today. Complete with the factory buildsheet, owner's manual, and maintenance records, you're looking at a distinctive classic that you'll love driving. So if you want to be the next midnight hero, don't miss this deal. Call today!!!
