1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 Additional Info:
The car is a factory 400 model. It ran and drove when I bought it, before I began the restoration. The engine numbers show it is a 400 from a 1971 GTO. Engine has an Edlebrock intake, Holly 650 CFM carb and electronic distributor. I Have all original parts for the engine; intake manifold, Qjet carb, points distributor. Engine runs strong. The transmission is a Turbo 350, unknown if it is the original.
I have the vehicle stripped down to rolling body/frame. There is a lot of rust. It has old collision damage to the rear and driver side that was hidden under body filler and did not discover until I started working on it. I have most of the parts necessary to restore. Comes with $4,000 worth of new parts: Complete front disc brake conversion kit, front suspention rebuild kit, AMD roof skin, trunk pan, trunk filler panel, tail panel, driver door, driver side rocker panel, driver side quarter panel skin, floor pans, battery tray, body mount bushings, fuel tank, carpet, door panels, headliner. Have the original 400 hood, front fenders, trunk lid, front and rear bumpers, all in good condition. Have the original front and rear seats, center console. Have all glass except for windshield. Have headlight and taillight assemblies. It just needs someone with the skill and equipment to restore it properly.
