Ultra Rare Optioned, Unrestored and Highly Documened 1965 Pontiac GTO in remarkable condition. This opportunity is for the most discriminating of collectors. Please take time to read this entire ad to understand the rarity of what I am offering for sale. This car is unrestored with original paint. I looked for 20 years to find this car and if you let this opportunity pass you may be looking just as long.
On March 11, 1965 the Freemont California Pontiac Plant invoiced Van Wyck Pontiac-Cadillac for this 1965 Pontiac GTO. On March 29, 1965 Hansen & Else Helmuth of Beullton, California registered their new 1965 GTO. On May 28, 2009 (44 years later) John Purkis also of California purchased the car. On October 4th, 2009 Michael Edman became the new owner and on December 1st, 2009 Michael sold this piece of history to it's 2nd long term caregiver Mr. Steve Zetzman of Wisonsin who stored the vehicle in a climate controlled garage until I was fortunate enough to find and purchase the car (7 years later) on December 4th, 2016. This car retains it's original paint, painted pistriping, carpet, seat covers, engine, etc. This car even retains it's original front and rear license plates. I have almost every registration card from March 29, 1965 to April 26th, 1992. I have cancelled copies of every title less the original. I have the original Owner Protection Plan with Protec-O-Plate (Which is the only way to prove this is The Original Born With Engine) and Owner's Guide. History is important so I wanted to document the above but how this car was originally ordered is what makes this one very very rare car. This car was originally ordered with:
> Montereo Red Exterior Paint with Black Painted Pinstripe
> Red Interior
> WS Code 389 Cu In - 360 Hp - 3/2 BBL Carbs
> Transistorized Ignition System (Still intact)
> 3.90 Rear Differential
> 4 Speed - M21 Close Ratio Transmission
> Metallic Brake Linings
> Heavy Duty Fan
> Heavy Ducty Radiator
> Safe-T-Track Rear Axle
> Bucket Seats, Console, Rally Gauge Cluster & Tachometer, Remote LH Outside Mirror, Push Button AM Radio, 2 Speed Wipers & Windshield Washer, Back-up Lamps, Vanity Visor Mirror, Inside Non-Glare Mirror, Soft Ray Glass - All Windows, Positive Crankcase Ventilation and of course with all of the go-fast options it was also built with an Instrument Panel Pad and seat belts/w Outboard Retractor for the Front Seats for safety.
This car is an absolute pleasure to drive; tight and fast just as it should be. This car is absolutely rock solid and rust free. This car probably drives as close to brand new as any classic car you will ever have the opportunity to sit down in. All classic cars are unrestored only 1 time during its life and this is your opportunity to own one of the most desirably optioned, highly documented, original & unrestored 1965 GTO's in existance today.
Please call John with any questions at 828-381-4855. I have many more pictures.
