1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Additional Info:

Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this very rare Dorado Gold 1981 Pontiac Trans Am.

This car is absolutely 100% completely RUST FREE, and was repainted the original color at one point within the last 5 years. It has a nice, deep glossy shine, but it's not perfect. It has a couple very minor touched up paint chips here and there but NO dents, dings or scratches anywhere. The decals are in like new condition, and the correct snowflake wheels and BFG radial TA's are all in excellent condition with at least 90% tread life left. It truly looks like a two year old car. The undercarriage is one of the cleanest, rust free examples I have seen with absolutely no leaks!

The interior is as close to perfection as you will get for a car this age. This has to be one of the most MINT, ORIGINAL interiors I have ever seen on a 2nd gen Trans Am. There is not a rip or tear anywhere in the seats. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The carpet is original and looks super clean. All the gauges work. Even the clock keeps perfect time! For your listening pleasure; there is an awesome aftermarket AM/FM CD/MP3 player with AMP in the trunk and beautiful sounding speakers (I don't have the original radio). The pictures speak for themselves. The A/C is ICE COLD and the heat works great! All blower speeds work fine.

This T/A features the original 301 V8. I know....it's just the 301. But this car really moves! I don't have anything that proves it but this motor had to have been rebuilt at some time and I believe it has a mild cam in it as well. NO HESITATIONS upon acceleration, and starts right up with one pump of the accelerator. I just had a full tune up done with new plugs, wires and distributor as well as a new fuel filter. The brakes are perfect, and do not pull to left or right when braking. The front end is tight, and steers just the way it should. She takes the bumps beautifully with no rattles or noises. The exhaust is a true dual PYPES exhaust with an X pipe which gives it that nice muscle car rumble. The original automatic transmission shifts beautifully through the gears with absolutely no issues at all.

All in all – this is an extremely nice car that was very well taken care of. Second generation Trans Ams and Camaros are very hard to find in this condition. Most of them were used and abused; where this one was clearly well-taken care of.
