You are looking at my 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350. The 350 package included all of the neat performance stuff, like 4 wheel disc brakes, Borg Warner "Australian 9 bolt", aluminum spare tire, baffled fuel tank, aluminum driveshaft, oil cooler, etc. This car is unmolested, and the only thing not original is the radio and an MSD coil. It has 77,000 original miles, and has been garage stored its entire life. The 350 package for 1988 did not permit t tops or 5 speed, therefore this is an automatic. this is a confirmed "never been hit" car as all panels are original.
What is new: In the last thousand miles, there are BFGoodrich Z rated tires, plus all four refurbished GTA wheels. These were professionally done wheels, not sprayed with a spray can. The wheels and tires alone were over $1000. The passenger ball joint was replaced, and an alignment was done. Both front headlight motors are new, that was about $500. All fluids are clean, oil, trans, coolant, power steering, brake. New Phoenix Graphics decal set was installed to replace the fading and cracking originals.
Paint/Body: paint has a real nice shine to it. There are no major dings or dents, but are may be a minor scuff or scratch. The underneath of this car is VERY clean. Floors are mint, and you can still see the factory decals on the coil springs! I believe that the doors and fenders have been repainted. Note that EVERY panel on this car is original, the original vin sticker appears and has been verified on the hood, front bumper support, both fenders, both doors, both quarter panels, and decklid.
Interior: interior is very clean, grey cloth does not have any burn holes, rips, tears, smells or issues.
Driveability: Car runs and drives perfect. Cruise works, and goes like a Cadillac down the road. I have owned many third gen cars, and this is one of the smoothest ones.
What it needs: being nitpicky, at some point it will need a headliner, the passenger door panel has a crack on the top plastic, and the passenger window bottom stop appears to not work. if you keep the button down it will go a touch too low. Remember that it is a 29 year old car.
All in all, this is about as clean of a third gen that you will find. 305 Auto cars and hacked up cars are still plentiful, but clean, unmolested cars just do not come up everyday anymore.
