I bought this 6-years ago in San Jose, which is near the original Pontiac dealer in Fresno, CA. I brought it to So Cal where it has been since. The person I bought it from inherited it from his uncle who he said was the original owner. That's the only owner history I know. I drove it into the garage and simply parked it. I had full intentions on restoring this as it is a great candidate with very desirable color combination in addition to to the desirable 4-speed and Air Conditioning. Pontiac discontinued making a 400 4-speed A/C combination in 1968 and I believe they re-appeared in 1969. This first generation Firebird is rare.
I am unable to restore this as life has become too busy for me. My career is move at a faster pace and taking more of my time. My family is also taking the rest of my time and I have other projects I would like to eventually get to. I love this Firebird, but I'm realizing I won't be able to do it. That being said, I am willing to wait to get a fair price for a car. I'm sure a quality restoration that takes this car back to it's original glory will bring value to $50,000 when all is said and done.
I have almost all the missing A/C brackets, intake manifold and linkage, A/C dryer, lower front air baffle, and A/C condenser, exhaust manifolds and original wood shift knob which I bought over the years. I paid a lot of money drove all over to get. It took a long time searching for them, but I will give the buyer the first opportunity to make an offer on these. Otherwise, they will be listed separately. I would like to recover what I paid for these.
I have uploaded three videos for you so I hope it will answer any questions that you have. I know I listed this high, but please remember this is a good project, California car with many desirable options that only add to the value compared to a base 400 model.
