Greetings Folks,
You’ll have to excuse me but I’ll try to keep from electrocuting myself from the tear falling onto my keyboard… Selling my baby is the last thing I wanted to do.. As we all know though, life is what happens while you’re busy making plans. With that said……
This is my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am …
A little back story..
I bought this about 2 years ago…. When I found her she was stripped down in a barn under mattresses and garbage.. She had no motor and nothing worked at all… in the last 2 years I’ve done the following:
I had a fresh 358 with a holley 650 (350 bored .60) (Has about 1500 miles on it)
Had the transmission rebuilt with a 3500 stall converter (Has about 1500 miles on it)
Replaced every gauge in the console.. Nothing worked at all.. Now all gauges work (tach, speedometer, oil, temp) aside from the fuel gauge.. This is the 2nd gauge though so I’m thinking it’s the fuel sending unit.
I pulled the body off of the from and replaced every bit of the front suspension and inspected the frame for any rust.. There is none at all on the frame..
I installed new carpet in her
I installed a new headliner in her
I reupholstered the rear seats
I installed a new 4 core aluminum radiator
I installed all new chrome power steering pump, new water pump, new alternator and a chrome mounting kit for all of them.
The shaker is installed and it sitting on the air cleaner.. Its mounts perfectly and shakes as expected.
I have a NEW 3” exhaust system from the 3” headers all the back to the splitters in the rear.. I have turbo thrush mufflers installed and it sounds AMAZING! This was an expensive upgrade but well worth it!
I have new tires on her (about 1500 miles)
I installed a working horn (The original is still in place but they were rather weak.. The new ones are mounted next to the old ones)
I have NEW carpet and padding installed in the trunk (the battery has been relocated to the rear as well.. This was done before me though but was done well so I left it… Makes it easier to wire up an amp)
I installed a new stereo and speakers in the rear.. It sounds wonderful!
The only rust on the body at all is in the trunk.. The previous owner had done a great panel weld repair on one side .. There is a small amount on the left side of the trunk but it has been coated with rust stop.. The battery box has rust (that was my next replacement part) There is NO RUST in the quarters at all … No body filler.. No rust.. No repairs… NONE … She is as solid as a rock!
My next tasks were to add traction bars (the 3” exhaust can clunk a bit on big bumps, address a small valve cover leak on the passenger side (more annoying than an issue, replace the battery box, and reupholster the front seats.. At that point, (or now) . shes ready for paint and body to go to whatever color you wish (she is solar gold and awesome!)
I am including the original spare tire, ac condenser and misc parts and accessories.
************* BONUS …… I bought 4 snowflake rims for her to restore and install along with a NEW set of knockouts and chrome lug nuts…. These will also go with her!! (That’s about 750.00 alone!) *************
I have won many car shows for (up and coming and work in progress) in the last 2 years.. She has many more shows in her future!
Please understand, I do NOT want to sell her.. I have more money and time then I can remember in her and this is a killing me. If you win her I ask only two things… First …Please take care of her and love her as I have and don’t pick apart my baby… I have put tons of pics up so you can see everything.
This is a NO RESERVE auction... If you win.. you get her!
I will expect a $500 deposit within 24 hours and the rest within 3 days … I will be happy to assist in shipping if needed.
Enjoy and please take care of her… Im going to go sit in the corner and cry!
