1976 Pontiac Trans Am Y82 Additional Info:
PHS DOCUMENTED. This is a real deal 1976 Pontiac Trans Am Limited Edition 50th Anniversary with numbers matching 455, 4-speed and Hurst T-tops.
That makes this Trans Am 1 of 110. It is believed only 30-50 of these cars still exist.
It is fully loaded with T-Tops, A/C, Power Windows, Power Locks, AM/FM 8-track, Rear Defrost, Power Steering, Deluxe interior, Power Brakes, Front and REAR CONSOLE, and of course, it is the black and gold limited edition to commemorate Pontiac's 50th Anniversary in 1976.
1976 was the last year of the 455, the first year for Black and Gold paint scheme, and first year for T-Tops. This Trans Am is Super Rare! Its almost impossible to find others like this. To compare prices the car has to be a Y82, 455 and T-top car. Most that I have seen have black interior. This one has buckskin (tan) which probably makes it even more rare. Fully restored this car is worth over $60,000. This car is not fully restored, which is why I am only asking $30,000.
I have done the following to the car: From firewall forward nearly everything is rebuilt or brand new. Numbers matching WX 455 Engine block completely rebuilt in 2015, bored .060 over with new pistons, cam, lifters, rocker arms, ARP Bolts, springs, oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, and rebuilt alternator and new radiator. Carburetor was rebuilt and redyed and is original. Front end was completely repainted/rebuilt with new suspension parts including tie rod ends, ball joints, Control arm bushings, steering box, PS pump, brake booster and master cylinder, new calipers, pads.
Air Conditioning system is all new from Classic Industries and blows nice and cold. New Heater core and blower motor. All new custom dual exhaust with Flowmaster muffler and new tips. Rebuilt and re-chromed original Hurst shifter. New Zoom Clutch.
Interior of the car has new steering wheel. front seat covers, carpet, headliner, re-dyed front door panels, new rear panels. AM/FM radio works great as well as 8-track player. Power door locks work sometimes, may require new solenoids. Power windows work. New Windshield. Car has all new weatherstripping and door felt.
Honeycomb wheels have been restored and have new caps and trim rings. I installed Mickey Thompson RWL tires.
The car spent much of its life in Texas and has little rust. I did replace the driver side floor pan because the T-tops leaked and rusted the floor from the inside. Underside of car is very clean from my 40 years of experience with musclecars. Trunk is very good and has a new mat. CAR WILL NEED A COMPLETE PAINT JOB and a lower quarter panel on the driver side. The paint looks good in the pictures thanks to my ability to buff old paint...but it is not...except for the hood which I did repaint and apply a new bird decal.
I have kept all of the original parts that I removed from car and those will go with the sale.
Car is sold as-is where-is in central MN. $500 non-refundable deposit through PayPal due immediately or car will be relisted. No negotiations after the fact or car will be relisted. Rest of funds due upon pick-up of vehicle by wire transfer or cashier's check from banks located in MN like Wells Fargo, Bremer, US Bank, etc.
