This car was listed last week. We did not realize the value of it until we took it to a car show yesterday and were overwhelmed by the ohs and awes over the car. People that knew about classic cars, and this was our first purchase, told us it was a jewel worthy of a great price. We were really surprised but we thought it was gorgeous and the best classic car on the planet but we had just purchased it a few short months before. We took BEST ORIGINAL car in the competion everyone thought it was the best original car in the show of about 65 classic cars, and some real beauties. So, therefore we have relisted it as the car sits in storage climatized in beautiful condition and worthy of a kings ransom.The unprecedented, idolized, romantic model of the Pontiac wide cars, is the rare 1961 Catalina in a restored, excellent running, condition. This car is really one of a kind, in the fact it's a working reliable car, that was restored in a very fine way and kept up, till the owner became ill and had to sell it. He had purchased it 53 years before at a car lot in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and keep it in a climatized storage after he drove it for 73,000 miles. The undercarriage, and Transmission are like new. It doesn't leak a bit of oil, not one drop and this includes the transmission. The transmission works effortlessly. But when you start the engine, and warm it up and ride around town, with the feel it represents, it gets all the attention you would want. The VIN number is 361K12357 and the license plate is T242712, however as soon as we get the personalized plates they will say livndream if it was available. The tri care that is in the Catalina, today cost $8200.00 if you can even find one. It has a cast iron manifold and the new ones have aluminum however they add 25% to the value of this automobile even today. It is really a specialized engine clean and well kept as you can see from the photos. It was totally restored by H.R. McGrath in 201, the 389 V-8 was rebuilt and the tri power was professionally set up. We have the original four barrels and original manifold from before the 389 was rebuilt and the tri power put in, if whoever purchases it can have if he would like. It has a rust free body. It has never been driven in winter, left in the climatized storage The pink is clear and all registered and taken care of, ready to be driven to a new home. It is like driving a BIG CLASSIC - floats down the road easily at 75 MPH. And don't forget it was one owner for 53 years. Babied and treated like a member of the family.
