1991 Pontiac Sunbird Additional Info:
You are bidding on a well preserved convertible Sunbird that I have listed as miles exempt because for around a ten thousand mile period of time the odometer was inoperative due to a defective speedometer drive gear in the transmission. It has now been fixed but mileage cannot be exactly verified. It displays over 57,000 miles but in reality I would guess more in the range of 65 to 70,000 miles. I believe that mileage would be close to accurate. It runs very well and shifts fine and runs at proper engine temperature. Oil pressure gauge has not worked for quite some time but it does have correct oil pressure. It does have some quirks simply from age. The driver's side front window has come off the track but we have it fully up by pulling it up. The headlight switch works but it isn't seated in the dash as it should be secured in place. The previous owner had put in an aftermarket speaker system that fried some wiring so the instrument lighting does not work and the fuse will blow if it is installed. It also affected the rear tail lights but I repaired that part of the harness and they do work now. I wasn't concerned about the instrument back lighting. The aftermarket speaker system has been removed and the factory speakers are used now. The top will not raise and lower by using the switch from the drivers seat. I can make it go up and down by applying 12 volts directly to the convertible top motor in the rear of the car. I believe the relay next to the motor has gone bad but I haven't bought a replacement. The a/c system is the older R12 and it does work. There is a rust spot behind driver's side rear wheel as shown in the pictures as well as a ding in the rear bumper that broke the plastic as shown. The hit also sprung the trunk slightly but that looks to be an easy fix.The trunk is not damaged. Front brake pads were recently changed and tires are in good shape. It has a door ding that is visible in the pictures as well, otherwise very nice for the year. It has cruise control and it works. Starter is also new as well as the battery. Glass is all good. Aftermarket stereo put in by my stepson and his friend needs to be secured better on the driver's side of the mount and has a cd player integrated in the system. Wheels have some corrosion but are oem wheels for this year, descent shape.
