This Belvedere II convertible is a true survivor car, in exceptional condition and wearing its original paint and original interior. Only routine maintenance such as tires, brakes, carburetor rebuild, muffler replacement, radiator re-core of original radiator has been performed. Nearly all maintenance has been performed at dealerships and is documented through dealership receipts and invoices. This car had one owner from being ordered in late 1966 until that first owner passed away last year. I purchased the car from his estate and have owned it for approximately a year, driving it occasionally to cruise nights or car shows. My intention was to resto-mod the car and install a big-block, but when I saw what amazing original condition it is in I couldn't bring myself to do it. I hope to find a buyer who appreciates the exceptional original condition of this car.
The original owner of this car purchased it in St. Louis Park Minnesota, and immediately moved to Sarasota, Florida. A dealer installed trailer hitch wason the car when I got it. I removed the hitch but it comes with the caralong with the invoice from the dealer for having it installed.The owner also installed clear vinyl seat covers when the car wasnew, which were still on the car when I got it though discolored. I removed them to find immaculate original seats showing no signs of wear. He obviously took care of the paint and mechanics as well, as the car is in exceptional condition. The top was replaced in 1968 under warranty, and is a story in and of itself. He and his wifedrovefrom Florida to Minnesota to have the top replaced at the dealership where he bought the car, stopping at the St. Louis assembly plant on the way for a tour and to tell them about the leaky top. Included in the paperwork are the name tag/passes from their tour of the Chrysler plant. The warranty top is still on the car, and is in great shape with a glass back window. The car has 102,000 miles as documented from paperwork, but could pass for only 2,000, it really is that nice. Most who see it guess that the odometer has not rolled over and that it has much lower mileage.
The paint is all original as near as I can tell with no signs of touch up or repaint anywhere with the exception of the top of the drivers side front fender. This looks like a small imperfection, kind of like a battery was set there while being replaced, and is touched up in matching color touch up paint. The area is very small and barely noticeable but worth mentioning. Additionally, the original owner was evidently a HAM radio enthusiast, as there was a vintage radio under the dash and an antennae added to the top of the driver's side rear quarter panel. I have removed the radio and antennae base, but the hole for the antennae is still there. I have the radio/etc. which will go with the car at auction. He also installed a vintagealarm which I removed but will also come with the car. The antennae hole could easily be welded up and the paint matched keeping the originality of the paint but eliminating the hole. Overall the paint shows nearly like new, with great luster and only minor wear and tear defects (couple of very small rock chips, tiny scratch). This car would have been the best looking survivor at the Mopar Nationals this year, it is in exceptional condition.
The Engine bay is very clean, and still has the original grease pencil markings of the anti-freeze service, etc. The trunk is also very clean, zero rust anywhere, still wearing the original paint with what appears to be the original spare, jack, etc. Even the spring holding the jack in place is still there. The original trunk mat was brittle and cracking, so I replaced it with a new mat from Year One.
The Interior is extremely clean, with original vinyl seats showing no wear, dash pad has no cracks, door panels and carpet are exceptional. All of the factory gauges work properly, even the clock works (rare for a Mopar this age). The carpet is original and looks new, having been covered with full vinyl floor mats since new. All lights, dash lights, etc. work properly. The radio does not work, but could likely have something to do with the HAM radio I removed. The power top does work and the original boot cover is there and in excellent shape. Original glassis in exceptional condition all the way around.
The original hubcapsare all on the car and in great shape, as is the grille, trim, trunk trim, etc. I have found ZERO rust on this car, it is as clean as they come. It runs and drives great, the transmission shifts firmlyand thebrakes workas they should. No smoke, leaks,or noises other than the normal clicking of the solid lifter cam and mechanical rocker arms. Chrome bumpers, trim, etc. is all in very good condition with great luster and no pitting.
All of the paperwork, owner's manual, invoice, order form, window sticker, broadcast sheet,are original and included and I have also made color copies of all for displaywith the car. The paperwork and documentation tell the story of how the owner really loved this car and kept it in amazing condition. He even had an original sales brochurefor the Plymouth 1967 line as well as the Belvedere/Satellite line which are included in the auction. Three of the four original keys are with the car, one ignition key is missing and couldn't be located by the gentleman's daughter at the time of sale. I do have an original blank that can be cut to match.

The reserve is reasonable, I understand this is not a Hemi carbut it is a very nice, original, rust-freeMopar B-body convertible in a very desirable color combination. They are only original once, and this is one of the nicest survivors I have seen.
