1970 Plymouth Cuda 340 body shell only for sale.VIN and fender tag calls for a 340 and Plum Crazy Purple. Must be hauledbecause it has no wheels tires, stands, or rotisserie. Pictures show this but not included. They belonged to the body shop. Right nowthis auctionis only for the body shell and a few used parts. There are many additional new and usedparts thatcan be had FOR ADDITIONAL MONEY. Many thousands of dollarswere spent on these parts.
As you wouldguess, the excited owner spent several years buying many new and used parts having things rebuilt etc. while the car was in the body shop being worked on.They will not be listedso there can not be any misunderstanding as to what is included with the body shell that is for sale. No parts are included unless listed below.
I'm selling for a friend. To make a very long story short, it was stuck in a body shop for several years with not much work going onwhere my friend has lost a lot of time and money. The shop keptrequestingmore money but not much work was being done.Body shop also gave no fewer than 5-6 deadlines promisedto the owner when the car would be finished.
He has lost interest because the car should have been longfinished for the money he has spent on it.The last straw was when the body shop backed out on the deal where the car owner had agreed to and paidthe final amount to finish the car. Then body shop had the nerve to call up saying he had to have 4000.00 more than agreed, to finish.
The shell is being sold by itself to make it easier and cheaperto sell ifthe buyerhas his own parts already. You will need a donor car to help with this project. It would be great if you were starting with a 6 cylinder car or rust bucket and really wanted a genuine 340 car instead.
The Cuda shell has had a lot of AMD reproduction body panels alreadywelded on. The list includes both quarter panels, rear body panels, trunk floor, passenger floors, a few odds and ends, and firewall.
The body shop did a pretty good job welding stuff in but still needs some welds ground down, finished, and primered. However expect some fitting and adjustments still to be done and therefore no warranty of perfect fit will be given. If you don't have body/frame experience or have someone who is helping you who does, you better consider a real body shop and additional costswill be involved. This car is in no way ready for paint right away without additional work.
If you buy arusty car for 5000-7000 and spend 3000 on all these weldedparts and then 2000 labor to get them welded on this will make your build easier. It is still bare metal in a lot of places so you can see what you're getting. Primer covers a lot. Expect to still spend 6000-8000 to get it in paint at a shop if you can't do it yourself.
You also get the following used parts that all need reconditioning in some way,
k frame with brakes, 8 3/4 rear end complete, steering column, cuda rally hood ( pretty nice),front and rear valance panels, trunk lid, header panel, 2 right doors but need skins. There are no front fenders. The shop left them sandblasted out in the rain and they ruined. They needed repair plus the massive rust so they were left behind. If I didn't list it we do not include it with the sale of this car.
Delivery is not included. You may pick up the car or car can be delivered by me in an enclosed trailer for 1.50-2.00? per mile leaving from Columbia SC area. The area I would prefer would be within the southeast or northeast but I would consider farther out depending on your location. Since the car has some parts included some shippers may not have room for them depending on whatever else they may be hauling. If you make a deal with other parts he has I think I can fit them too.
A 2000.00 non refundable deposit can be taken by Paypal. The balance in cash, wire transfer, official bank check with a clearance of deposit will be required before car can be released. Any of this can be discussed prior to purchase.
