1973 Plymouth Duster Additional Info:
1973 PLYMOUTH DUSTER 383There is no secret to building a fast retro Mopar, simply remove weight and add horsepower. In the case of this 73 Duster the builder went crazy in the horsepower department adding the 383 big block to this ultra light weight awesome condition Duster. Trust me, you will hear it coming, and unbelievable looks when I pop the hood.! It looks so factory retro that I get questions like " I didn't know the Duster came with a 383"This car started out as a perfect condition, rust fre, all origina, Southern Cal car with a meager 47K on it, and the rest of the story is as follows. The real story starts under the hood with a vintage 1969 383 that was totally rebuilt matched to a same vintage 727 Torqueflite transmission with front mount oilcooler, and a B&M Shift kit.And yes when you fire it up you know it is not a stock 383! As in the picture it is topped off with an aluminum manifold, and Holly carb. To make sure in keeping the vintage factory look we capped it with an original 383 Magnum restored air cleaner. To hold this power house in place we have a custom made aluminum motor mount that works perfectly. To round things off we added Hooker Headers, and complete new Turbo exhaust professionally built to the rear. Everything else under the hood is retro looking other than the custom fit aluminum radiator. SuspensionThe complete front suspension has been replaced "All New No BS" along with Gas shocks, and Hellwig sway bars added to front and rear. Added to the vehicle is new BF Goodrich TA Radials and wheel alignment mounted on the original Rallye wheels. The car tracks and brakes perfectly! The rear is a Suregrip 3:91 which launches perfectly.InteriorIs 100% original in what I would say 90% condition. All lights working, horn, even the warning buzzers that driveme crazy! Seatbelts are 100% original and working. To add to the retro look is a Sun Super Tach and oil/ temp gauges. The radio is a very rare AM FM that did not come with the car that cost almost $500 to buy and rebuild. The radio goes with the car with a Buy it Now or an offer acceptable on the car. The original working AM radio will go in otherwise. IssuesIt took me over two years to find this Duster in original "NOT ALL REPLACED METAL" condition. Overall it is probably one of the best condition Dusters you will find. It is not perfect as it has nothing to hide. The paint is original, touched up a little over the years few little dings. The windshield wiper grommets need replacing "have them" I removed the heater core, easy to add if needed. Transmission pan gasket should be tightened as it spots "easy fix". Yes as always with vintage vehicles you have to mess with them...This one need very little of that. The EndSo that's the magic formula all wrapped up in a Duster Retro look ready to rock. A perfect bulletproof vintage drive train, placed in a light weight vintage Duster. This is a very fun car to driv, and am only letting it go as I am moving onto a Cuda that I have had my eyes on.The RulesThe car is being sold as i, no warrant, no excuses, as listed, no bs. Do not even think of bidding on it if you "think" you may want it. Simply ask all the questions you wish before you bid. I am open to prospective buyers looking at the vehicle.
