1968 Plymouth Barracuda Additional Info:

1968 Plymouth Barracuda for sale. This a rare car by the numbers and is very very worthy of a restoration. Just over 2,000 of the 45,000 68 Barracudas were drop tops and factory A/C convertibles are said to be extremely rare. This car comes with fender tag and Certi Card in the original user manual. This is one that could be a driver while going through restoration or just go through it all at once. These are pretty basic cars and it won't be that difficult to make this a very nice car. It does have a rebuilt title, not a salvage title. State of Florida requires a full inspection to issue a rebuilt title. Car got wet to the floors but not into the motor. Contact me for more details. Car is a yard driver, needs front brakes. Previous owner of 23 years said he bought it 97,000 orig miles and that the 130,777 it shows now is accurate. It was just a coastal cruiser for him.
Key options are- Air Conditioning, PS, PB, Power Top and more. Fender tag breaks it down.
BODYVery solid original body with one older repaint. Floor pans and trunk pan are extremely solid. Torque boxes, frame rails very good. Car was undercoated many years ago. Right rear quarter at bottom needs a patch but in no way anything more. Rockers are very solid except both have rust in the back end. Trunk panel on top has a rust spot. Drivers door has a small spot at bottom front corner. Here's the good- Under hood no rust original paint, door jams are great, trunk jam is great, hood & trunk lid have no rust. Car was garaged early in it's life, past 20 years parked ground floor parking deck, out of elements but not the air. Pot metal is pitted, chrome bumpers are dull but laser straight. I cannot find where this car has ever been hit. Needs grill. All glass is in very nice condition. Factory hubcaps are in good condition. Look down both sides and the body is very straight, no waves. Be pretty easy for someone or a shop to turn this out very nice. New gas tank within past year. Pair almost new Mopar tail lights w/lenses in Mopar boxes. Original jack is mounted in the trunk. Car was undercoated many years ago, it definitely did it's job.
DRIVETRAINOriginal 318 starts up with bump of the original key and idles smooth. Comes with the original air cleaner. Auto transmission. Engine does not smoke. One freeze plug replaced, another needs it. Motor should be pulled and cleaned up, painted in my opinion. It is very stock, never modified. Great candidate for a stock Mopar restoration or put a new Hemi in it! They make kits that fit. It's great to look under the hood and see such a non-modified example. A/C is all there, completely intact. Comes with new front left brake drum, shoes, 2 wheel cylinders. Dual exhaust sounds nice, needs new exhaust tips.
INTERIORWhite interior, white top, blue carpet. Beautiful color combo with the factory blue paint. It needs a full interior kit. It's all there but tired looking. Top is way shot but the power top does go up n down. Gauges work, interior dome lights, horn work. Lights work. Car had to pass Florida inspection for title issuance. Car comes with a very nice dash face with gauges. Chrome items are pitted. Simple interior to make awesome. Windows roll up and down.
Overall, very solid rare 68 Barracuda convertible with factory A/C in a great color combo that needs a very worthy restoration. Do it yourself on your schedule or have a shop take care of it. Contact me for any questions.
