This 1968 Plymouth Road Runner began life as a PP1 Matador Red car equipped with a 383 and a 4-speed, but it now packs even more muscle under the hood. Roughly ten years ago, the engine was upgraded to a rebuilt 1967 440 cubic inch V8, bored .030 over and fitted with a Purple cam, Keith Black pistons, Wolverine lifters, and Speed Pro rocker shafts, arms, and valve springs. More recently, it received an aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock 750 carburetor, Hedman headers, a mini starter, and a fresh dual exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. The result is a car that fires up eagerly, runs strong, and delivers the deep, unmistakable sound that made the Road Runner a legend.
Originally a manual car, it has been converted to a floor-shifted automatic, making it easier to enjoy on the street while still keeping that raw Mopar character. The rear end has been returned to its proper specs with a new 3.55 gear-ratio posi (8¾" size), restoring the car's ideal balance of power and drivability. It's finished in eye-catching Moulin Rouge (also known as Panther Pink), a color that perfectly complements the car's aggressive lines and unmistakable stance. A new vinyl top and a fresh set of wheels and tires give it a clean, classic look, while a full tune-up with new plugs and wires in 2022 keeps it running smoothly.
Inside, the cabin has been refreshed with new seats, a new headliner, and a restored main speedometer and gauge cluster. While the original trim tag was missing, the car comes with its broadcast build sheet and a newly issued replacement tag from MMC, backed by full documentation. This Road Runner draws attention wherever it goes - it runs and drives well, sounds fantastic, and captures the pure, unfiltered attitude that made Plymouth's muscle cars so memorable.
Price does not include applicable tax, title, license, processing, and/or $240 documentation fees.
