1965 PLYMOUTH VALIANT SIGNET 200 CONVERTIBLE RARE V8 ORIGINAL ENGINE 800 MADE

1965 Plymouth Valiant Additional Info:

Rare 1965 Plymouth valiant signet 200convertible original survivor vehicle. They only made 800 with the V8 option in 1965. It also has the optional Power steering upgrade and upgraded leather seats which were also rare. This vehicle was with the prior family over 35 years. After her husband died almost 10 years ago, she kept the car in the garage, and it was not driven. She recently passed away within this last year. that’s when I Acquired the Vehicle. For an original vehicle, the Engine and trans run perfect very smooth no knocks or black smoke. You can hear it run in the video. The leather seats are excellent, not worn out or ripped along with the leather boot That goes over the convertible top. It has the original engine, original transmission, original seats, and original hubcaps which is a rarity after all these years. It has a 273 V8. Automatic Transmission independent front with the wishbone and torsion bars. Live rear axle with leaf springs. Four-wheel drum brakes. The carburetor gaskets have been changed. I’m also including an extra set. The battery was changed 9/24. I will tell you what the car needs. The top needs to be repaired. It is torn in two spots where the back plastic window is on both sides. The window will need to be replaced. It is dry and brittle. I do see a zipper for the back window which can come out and a new one put in. I would personally change the top outer shell. All the supports are solid and strong the top fabric Is around 650. I can give you the link to purchase it specifically for this car the engine has a very slight drip which all these old cars are known for because of the way the gaskets were made other than that runs flawless and smooth. You will need to replace the front floor pans and the rear Floor panel and also the trunk Panel they each run between 100 and 150 not anything crazy I would also replace the carpets about 250. They are OK but not if you like your vehicles meticulous like I do the power top motor works perfect I will have the video of it going up and down when I was putting the top down the hose popped off the hydraulic Pump for the top I can send you a picture of that simple fix. I would do it when you change the floorboards easier access to get the backseats out the unibody frame is solid and not rusted out. You can’t put the top up and down manually if needed you can drive the car as is, but I would address those issues for peace of mind the body for the year is in pretty good shape. I did notice on the back right side a piece of the bottom fender was cut out, but that could be taken care of for a reasonable cost from a body shop but if it doesn’t bother you, you don’t have to get it done. The windshield reservoir needs to be changed I left the old one in so you can get identical one. The vehicle has the original jack still in trunk. The paint for being original is in pretty good shape a few chips here and there but good for the year. Steering wheel has crack nothing that will affect it. Lights, signals, and horn work perfect. The tires were put on not that long ago. I have the ad for 1964 valiant convertible V6 that was sold for over 25K this car with a little bit of TLC would be a great vehicle and should get over that for the rarity.
