1970 Plymouth Barracuda 383c.i. big block (BH23G0B193xxx) (was a factory 318 car), automatic, console, bucket seats, side stripe, 8 3/4 rear-end w/3.23 gears, power steering, dual exhaust with correct Cuda chrome tips, Rallye wheels, Cuda hood, wood-grain steering wheel and original fender Tag!
I just did a ton of things to the Barracuda including: restored Rallye wheels, chrome trim rings, new braking system front to back, brake pads, brake line kit, master cylinder, rear brake drums, wheel cylinders, rear brake lines, factory flex lines and front to rear metal lines, water pump, gaskets, thermostat and billet housing, spark plugs, belts, upper and lower radiator hoses, 3-core aluminum radiator, factory clamps, heater hoses and fittings, neutral safety switch, engine oil and filter, fuel tank, straps, sending unit, factory chrome mirror set, door handles, lock cylinders, front/rear chrome bumpers, trunk floor, front /rear shocks, Edelbrock carb, mini starter, coil, battery cables, motor mounts, distributor, engine wiring harness, ECU box, plug wires, air cleaner, 383 pie pan, washer bottle, HP manifolds, full exhaust system, Cuda exhaust tips, front seat covers, P/S box upper seal, P/S lines, P/S pump, wet sanded and buffed entire car, black carpet and sill plates.
The Barracuda was sitting since the early 1990’s so this is the reason for so many new parts to get it ready to drive and enjoy it! Overall the Barracuda is a very nice car that is ready to drive and enjoy but I would consider it to be more of a middle of the road driver type car because of several flaws in the paint. If you want a true show car I think you would want to have some paint work done or decide to do an overall paint job. It will be a great car to cruise the way it is and drive and enjoy it for awhile and later on have the paint work done to take it closer to a show car status vehicle. I will have close up pictures of the flaws in the album listed below. Please call me and I will be glad to do a complete walk around the car so you will know every detail of it and the paint.
I typically restore and finish around 8 or more Mopars a year and have been working on them for more than 35 years. I do all of my own work from top to bottom and I do every one as if it were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale.

PAINT, BODY AND FRAME
The body overall is pretty nice and clean and has an excellent shine. I just replaced the trunk floor and primed and painted it. The trunk extensions, wheel well housings, doors, frame, floor boards, hood and fenders are all in pretty nice condition. I think the very lower quarters will need some minor metal work as they have several blisters on the bottoms (front and rear of tire area). There are also some small blisters at the roof to quarter factory seems (I would recommend putting the factory vinyl top back on to solve this), below drivers door corner, and a couple very small ones at the RH door very lower front corner. The paint is single stage enamel and was done in the early 1990’s. It has an excellent shine and looks good but please keep in mind that it’s an older driver paint job. The high gloss enamel paint was just professionally wet sanded with 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 grit paper to achieve a very nice smooth wet look finish. This long process alone took over 60 hours and the finish shows it! The black side stripe was also painted on in the 90’s. The door jams and lower door edges are pretty good and the entire engine bay was just sanded, primed and painted and installed a ton of new items! Many of the Cuda items like the hood, rear valance, rear spoiler and hood emblems were also added in the 1990’s. I have several extra photos link listed below. I know how important paint is so please take the time to call me and I will gladly go over the exact details of the paint.
GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM
The Barracuda’s front and back glass are pretty nice for original glass and only has light wiper blade marks on the front glass and only a couple minor scratches on the rear. The LH/RH side glass has a few scratches but over-all in good original condition! The front and rear bumpers are brand new and in excellent condition. The trim pieces are in nice original condition and were polished for optimum shine. The front grill is in very nice shape with no cracks and was painted and polished on the outer trim pieces. The LH/RH chrome mirrors, door handles, lock cylinders and antenna kit are all brand new.
INTERIOR
The interior has been mostly restored and looks very good! The A/C dash pad was out of a 1972 parts car as well as the console and shifter. The 3-speaker dash pad is a pretty nice one but does have a repair area just above the gauges. The seat covers, carpet, speaker shelf, sill plates, door switches and trunk divider are all brand new. The gauge cluster appears to be in nice original condition and under the dash is very clean and neat. All factory gauges work and operate correctly. There is an oil pressure gauge installed where the factory clock would have been in the gauge cluster. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, reverse lights, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers, and license plate light. The fan motor, windshield wipers, heat/defrost, horn and E-brake all work as should. There was an overhead console also added at some time from a 1970 Grand Coupe Barracuda.
DRIVE TRAIN
The very nice running 383 engine was also installed in the early 90’s. I do not know a lot about it but believe it was rebuilt some time ago. It feels extremely good and has excellent power. It seems like a nice mild cam and sounds awesome with an excellent idle. The Barracuda was sitting in dry storage since 1994 so it was checked all over and removed the intake, valve covers, distributor, carb, etc… before starting it up. The distributor was set-up to run total timing and set at 37 degrees at 2,500 rpm and will give you excellent performance and cooling. The intake is a factory cast iron Mopar one with a nice 650cfm Edelbrock electric choke carb and factory Mopar HP manifolds. The entire engine bay has been redone and received many new items as mentioned above. The flat ID surface is D383 (1968 motor). The Barracuda has an excellent sounding brand new dual exhaust system with flow master mufflers and the correct factory Cuda chrome tips!!!
The 727 automatic shifts excellent through the gears and is an absolute blast to drive! It has a new transmission pan gasket, filler tube O-ring, filter, ATF oil, neutral safety switch and checked adjustments. The Barracuda has an 8 ¾ rear-end with a 489 case and a 3.23 non sure-grip differential. It does drip a small amount of trans oil when sitting and a little from the differential. This excellent drive train combo runs and drives excellent in all conditions whether highway or city driving.
SUSPENSION
The front suspension has been checked over and is in good condition. As mentioned above all the brakes, pads, drums, brake hardware, lines, hoses, master cylinder and wheel cylinders have all just been changed. The Rallye wheels have been restored and have brand new chrome trim rings and lug nuts. All 4 tires are brand new with 205-75-14 fronts and 255-60-15 rears. It also just had a new front-end alignment. The Barracuda handles and drives extremely nice and you will not be disappointed!!!
