1971 Plymouth Duster 440
Nice Mopar!
Originally a 318 stick car
L5 Cuda yellow with Cuda billboards
Beautiful black vinyl top
Interior is in great condition.
Scat rally 1000 bucket reclining seats in front.
Back seat is original.
Headliner and carpet are nice.
Dash looks great.
Dakota digital guages showing 425 miles since install.
I do not know how many original miles are on the car and I do not have the original guage cluster.
Interior is a real strong point of this car.
JVC stereo with Kicker 4x6’s and 6x9’s with bazooka bass tube and Kicker amplifier in trunk.
All lights, turn signals and windshield wipers work as they should.
LED halo headlights
Spoiler kit
Doors and trunk open and close properly.
440 engine stroked to 500 cu. in.
727 transmission with TCI converter
3-speed automatic
Precision billet ratchet shifter
8 3/4 rear end with 3.91 gears
New alternator
New battery in trunk with on/off switch
MSD 6AL ignition
New B&M supercooler
Frame connectors
Edelbrock torqer 2 intake manifold
Aluminum heads
TTI headers
Holley 950 carb
1” Wilson billet tapered carb spacer
Holley fuel pump
Power steering
Manual brakes
Caltrac suspension in rear
Mopar relocation kit
QA1 tubular in front
Could use a front end alignment
I think the carb is too big for this car and probably needs to be more like a 750. May be running too rich.
UPDATE: New Holley 750 installed on 12/5
You can also have the Holley 950 that was on the car.
Spark plugs may be fouled and need to be changed.
Timing may also need to be checked and adjusted.
Headers need to be re-worked because power steering gear box issues with clearance. On the drivers side of the engine block the headers are dented in pretty good from the gear box.
I was told by my mechanic the cam may also be too big for the car. I was told by the person I purchased the car from that it’s a Comp cam 256/266@50 with a 570 lift.
These are the issues I know about with the car so please be aware and understanding of this if you buy the car.
Needs some tender loving care from a good Mopar enthusiast so keep in mind there could potentially be some repairs and/or adjustments to get things totally right under the hood.
Car has a lot of potential.
Not a perfect car by any means.
I do not know the age or condition of the engine, transmission or the rear end.
Specifications listed are directly from the previous owner and what I was told when I purchased the car with the exception of the B&M supercooler, new alternator, new battery and new tires.
Vehicle is being sold as is.
Garage kept.
Not driven in the rain.
20x10 Niche Misano rims on the rear with Nitto 555 street slicks
18x8 Niche Misano rims in the front with new Toyo Proxes.
Asking $22,000 obo
Price is negotiable
No tire kickers
Serious buyers only please
Have the original broadcast sheet.
There is a picture limit on my ad. If you would like additional photos and/or videos I will be happy to email them to you.
Car would be a good fit for someone who loves and knows a lot about Mopars and is willing to put the needed work into it.
UPDATE Jan. 1 2021
I will not be accepting 8, 12, 15 thousand dollar offers. If you don’t want to offer between 21-22k for the Duster please kindly keep on moving. I will not give the car away. I will be taking the ad down at the end of the listing in the next 4 days if it doesn’t sell. I’m fully prepared to keep the car and put the money into it to fix everything myself.
Thank you
